Baine. Thank you, hero, for helping us. Here I give you a hero point for being the bestest hero Canât wait to get champion talents in the expansion after war within
It wonât make it to live. Paladins will be oppressed again and again
- Vampiric Aura: Your Leech is increased by 3%. While Lichborne is active the Leech amount is increased by 100% and affects 4 nearby allies.
The impact of this talent specifically is crazy low. 6% leech doesnt really move the mark on defending through a heavy damage mechanic. Meanwhile the Icebound Fortitude talent provides personal impact with much more usefulness overall.
Vampiric Strike: Your Death Coil and Death Strike have a 10% chance to make your next Heart Strike or Scourge Strike become Vampiric Strike . Vampiric Strike heals you for 3% of your maximum health and grants you Essence of the Blood Queen , increasing your Haste by 1.5%, up to 7.5% for 20 seconds.
Vampiric Strike feels like a very lackluster augment to Heart/Scourge Strike. I would hope for a more empowering feeling attack that I can feel in my button presses. A relatively small haste buff and small heal doesnât really hit it for me. I would hope for a bit more interaction with the core Sanâlayn hero talent.
Infliction of Sorrow: When Vampiric Strike damages an enemy affected by Blood Plague or Virulent Plague it consumes the disease dealing 200% of the remaining damage. While Gift of the Sanâlayn is active, Vampiric Strike no longer consumes your disease and instead extends the duration of your disease by 3 sec and deals 20% of the remaining damage to the enemy.
MORE OF THIS! I am desperately wanting more disease interaction with unholy DK specifically.
Blood-Soaked Ground: While you are within your Death and Decay , your physical damage taken is reduced by 5% and your chance to gain Vampiric Strike is increased by 5%.
Nothing wrong on the surface, but above all else, DO NOT make Death and Decay used in single target for Unholy. For Blood itâs okay, but for Unholy that gameplay would feel awful.
Overall hopeful for the Hero Talents. I am also hoping for the other Hero talent trees to either have new actives or augment existing buttons in a big way. Minor passives that dont move the needle much is the last thing I want.
In 10.2 I press even less buttons than I did in 10.1.
Really feels like the spec is waiting for the fyrâalath I probably wonât ever get.
If Hunters are forced to be Dark Rangers, Iâll eat my shoes.
Tired of elf-centric themes choking out entire classes.
All DKs are Sanâlayn now?
Lol, ok.
Racial talents seem better imo
Having not seen Colossus hero talents yet, if you ignore some Bloodthirst/Raging Blow mentions that could easily be swapped to other abilities, Mountain Thane sounds way more like Prot/ARMS talents rather than Prot/Fury. I mean, Arms has already used Avatar and Thunderclap off and on for years now, while both are more recently available for Fury. Just seems really weird. Also Storm Shield is probably a really dead talent for most DPS players, so I guess weâre just getting stun diminishing returns on random mobs now with those 2 second stuns. Could at least have the full duration, or not apply stun diminishing returns.
I was really hoping to see one of the Ret hero trees, but itâs still nice to see anything Paladin-related really.
- Holy Bulwark seems really strong and I am here for it.
- Holy Armaments feels like less complicated Blessing of Seasons (which should probably just be reduced to two alternating buffs anyway), but with the added drawback of it being something you have to place on the ground, so your allies can it up on you. How long are these things going to stay on the ground? Iâd almost rather just be able to cast it directly on a player, unless I can leave one out for someone to collect for 1-2 minutes in advance, so none of my charges are going to waste, but they can still be used at the most optimal times.
- The weapon imbue idea is interesting. I kind of like the idea of it possibly being optimal to use a personal weapon imbue like this instead of a Rune like we do now. But can we make all personal weapon imbues last 2 hours like the Runes? Also, Rite of Sanctification sounds really really weak. 5% armor is almost nothing, and I donât think youâll really notice 1% main stat either. Though depending on the proc chance of Rite of Adjuration, that could still manage to be even worse. Just please make sure these are actually worth using over Runes or whatever equivalent item we have next.
- Solidarity is exactly what I would hope for with this kind of ability idea. Sometimes I want to be able to give this buff to someone else who may benefit more, but that doesnât mean I donât want the buff for myself too. Itâs the same as the Twin of the Sun Priestess talent for Power Infusion, and Iâm glad to see it.
- Hopefully Divine Guidance deals all of its additional damage immediately on cast of Consecration instead of over the duration, but my excitement over the ability is hampered a bit by RNG Consecration procs like Righteous Judgment giving me less control over when and where it happens.
- Laying Down Arms needs a clause to reduce the cooldown of your next cast of Lay on Hands if it is not already on cooldown, perhaps stacking, if there is just no good use for Lay on Hands. Also if itâs going to give Shining Light or Infusion of Light, then these effects need to stack by default and not just through talents. I know Shining Light is probably going to give one stack toward the âfreeâ cast of WoG (which still needs its mana cost removed) but once you have the âfreeâ cast buff, you canât get new stacks, so this effect will just do nothing. It needs to be possible to build up toward the next free cast while you already have one, up to two âfreeâ casts.
- I hope the proc chance for Diving Inspiration is just high enough to occasionally see holy weapons just littering the ground, if only for the visual of it. Realistically, I expect Forewarning will just be better in every way.
- Shared ResolveâŠbasically does nothing? Like this could be 100% and you probably still wouldnât notice it.
- Could Valiance just always do both effects? Neither seems like it will be a really game-breaking effect, but having even one RNG Armament active may prevent getting the next charge reset for some key timing in a fight because you no longer get the CDR because one is still active.
- Blessing of the Forge sounds dope, but then I remember this isnât a Ret thing and it sounds less exciting because I wouldnât be swinging giant echoing hammers at things.
Chronowarden sounds like itâs bringing back a lot of the aspects I have enjoyed about some of the tier sets weâve seen so far, which is nice. It also has me hopeful that the Ruby Aspect tree marks the return of instant Living Flame procs for Preservation.
- Can Warp also be extended to Rescue? That would be fantastic.
- I welcome Reverberations, because I already find myself missing the HOT from Spiritbloom.
- Temporal Burst sounds pretty fun to play around, though I have mixed feelings about basically needing to use Tip the Scales on cooldown as a healer. Can we get a second charge of Tip the Scales somewhere so I can at least keep one in my pocket for when I really need it?
- I like the idea of Hover behaving more like Blink and giving you massive DR if your timing is really good. Could this be changed just a tiny bit to be 30% for 1 full second, then fall off over the next 2 seconds?
- Motes of Acceleration is a neat idea for fights where movement is key, something like Painsmith or Soulrender comes to mind. Can we make sure one player canât run through and waste ALL of the motes so no one else gets any? Like, limit 1 per player, or prevent picking up a second while the buff is already active.
- Itâs also nice to see the current Preservation tier set being more or less carried forward in Afterimage (reminder that this is also a Paladin class talent, which may cause confusion).
DK - Sanâlayn:
- PLEASE STOP MAKING PLAYERS STAND IN GROUND EFFECTS FOR BUFFS. You took out Rune of Power for a reason. Stop making DKs stand in Death and Decay. Stop making Paladins stand in Consecration. Change Blood-Soaked Ground to âwhile Death and Decay is activeâ and then do the same for basically every other effect related to Death and Decay, and Consecration. These things never feel like buffs, they only feel like punishments for not being able to stand still or maintain 100% uptime on them.
- Does Vampiric Strike still retain all of the other functions of the ability it replaces, like Heart Strikeâs slow, or bursting Festering Wound? If so, then the tooltip needs to be updated to clarify this.
- Does adding a new stack to Essence of the Blood Queen refresh the entire stack so maximum stacks can basically be maintained at 100% uptime? It would be good to have this clarified in the tooltip somehow.
- Vampiric Aura wording is odd. Is that 6% Leech for you and 4 allies during Lichborne?
- Bloody Fortitude honestly sounds amazing and like it should have been a talent all along.
- Blood is Life sounds entertaining if nothing else, though a lot like Blood Worms. I hope itâs a cute little blood monster. I enjoy the juxtaposition of cute things attacking and exploding violently.
- Iâm not sure how I feel about Infliction of Sorrow. 3 second disease extension is effectively nothing, especially for Blood. 20% of the remaining damage is also effectively nothing compared to instantly eating the disease for double damage, especially when itâs just going get re-applied by Blood Boil in a maximum of 2 GCDs. Now, I donât know if this would be overpowered or something for Unholy because I donât play Unholy much, but I really feel like this effect should ALWAYS do 200% of the remaining disease damage, with Gift of the Sanâlayn just changing it to extend the disease instead of consuming it.
- Iâm actually looking forward to possibly not caring so much about Haste with how much can be gained from Essence of the Blood Queen. Haste has historically been so drastically important for Blood that, between Bone Shield and Essenec of the Blood Queen, for basically the first time ever all other secondary stats may be more valuable than Haste. I guess thatâs one way to do it, though having more actual interactions with Crit and Mastery would be nice.
- Sanguine Scent needs wording changed to clarify what is guaranteed to critically strike.
My main demon hunter sits quietly in the dark with her head down and tears rolling down from her lifeless blind eyes
This is a LOT of self healing added to already self-healing heavy Blood DK. I wonder how tuning will be handled with that in mind.
Belves are like the most played race in the game. Blame others for wanting to play the pretty race.
Iâll be honest, thereâs a lot from the trees I like, and a lot from the discussion prior that I donât.
I donât like the idea of making Hero Trees âYou should feel like youâre playing your spec with a twist or a boostâ I was hoping for one signature ability that makes you FEEL like you are you Hero Spec, Lightsmith Paladin clearly has that, they literally spawn weapons made of light, thatâs awesome.
But since I will be playing Ret, I suppose I have to wait for the tree to be released but it was mentioned in the post that Templar Paladin strengthen their Wake of Ashes⊠and that does not make me feel like I am a Templar.
So thatâs my feedback so far.
What have you been smoking? Gromash, Jubeiâthos and Samuro reminds you of monks now? Seriously?
âMost Hero Talent trees do not add new buttons that players will need to add to their action bar or find a new keybind for.â
Lightsmiths
This hero talent needs to be remedied because on the âgameplay and hero talentâ said no additional complexity and which lightsmiths is just that added complexity. There must be no exceptions to the rules that was set in place.
these dont fix any of the dk problems, cant we just get a dk rework ? just give us the ret treatment lol. We are abandoned for so long and we are now in the worst place possible feels like our classe doesnt even have devsâŠ
Also ignore Gorathos, buddy is super high haha
Calling me high? When itâs stated fact. They have to honor their word and should revise lightsmiths hero talent to be made passives only no exception to the rule.
I know Iâll get flak for this, but war is inherently ugly lol.
Warcraft is supposed to be uglier, imo.
Dragonflight was too clean, and that was part of the problem. It was too pretty.
Not everything has to be grim-dark, like Diablo, but thereâs a fine balance.
I enjoyed Blood Elves of old because they were pretty/hot but underneath they were ugly! They betrayed each other and were power-hungry like the orcs.
Today? Theyâre just long-lived, magical humans.
Totally toothless. And I feel thatâs whatâs kinda happened with WoW, it lacks edge.
Shadowlands was all edge and people hated it- again, thereâs a balance to be had.
Legion was perfect. It was edgy but also didnât take itself too seriously.
BLIZZ PLEASE MEASURE YOUR OPTIONS CAREFULLY. I think it would be unwise to squander such an opportunity, and it may be that you should consider rethinking how this entire system works, as it is, it can work, but you might be painting yourselves into a corner, regardless i would strong advise rethinking some of the Hero Talent name choices, to capture additional community requested Hero Classes, if you will.
If Blizz fails to deliver on the actual abilities and fantasy of these âHero Classesâ if you will, much community concern Iâm hearing is that a Complete Version of these âclassesâ will never be added to the game. Like wise this system will for sure prevent the implementation of a future system where we may see some of the existing class adjacent lore âHero Classesâ weâve long desired become playable.
Furthermore, there are many opportunities we feel are being missed, Blademaster, Shadow Hunter, Warden, Spellbreaker, just to name a few that we are concerned may not be added and or are being overlooked by place holder/ new or unnecessary âHero Classesâ such as - Slayer, Fatebound, Packmaster etc, and if not now this clearly bloated system may prevent them from ever making a playable appearance since theyâre already so similar to existing classes.
SPELL RESKINS AND FLAVOR - It would really help to capture the feel to replace existing class abilities with reskins that fit the fantasy, for example I see you mentioned Blademasters in your article, you recognized they would not be the same without Mirror Image and Wind Walk, good. However if you made Heroic leap a mandatory opt in talent for Windwalk and made Mirror Image a âCapstoneâ this could absolutely be achievable, it would also make Single Minded Fury Viable, and would be a huge community win. For some âHero Classesâ spell reskins could offer IMMENSE FLAVOR, and every opportunity possible to capitalize on this would very well recieved.
This feature may be Evergreen but I donât expect theyâll actually add many more on to this already lengthy list so it would be wise to make the most of this brilliant idea and capture all the long desired class fantasies that are able to be captured in this fashion, without any fluff.
RACE SPECIFIC - Furthermore some Lore related classes are race specific, like Witch Doctor, Shadow Hunter, Tidesage, Wardancer. It would be awesome if they added some Herotalent/classes that are Race/Class Combo Specific, otherwise I doubt they will ever become playable, it would be foolish to squander this opportunity.
For example if Sanâlayn isnât really Sanâlayn and they remove all hope of adding it later in all itâs glory I will be immensely disappointed. Iâd rather see it removed and hold out hope for a lore accurate iteration down the line. How is my Tauren Death Knight a SanâLayne? Will this be addressed with an ingame quest? Last I checked there are currently only Darkfallen Elves.
ITâS OK TO TAKE AWAY A CLASS ABILITY, OR RESKIN IT, ESPECIALLY IF YOUâLL BE REPLACING IT WITH FUNCTIONAL FLAVOR.
Iâm interested in getting into specifics for each âHero Classâ/" Hero Talent" Tree Blizz presented and recommending specific abilities weâd like to see and comprehensively recommending alternative options, just donât have time right now.
Hoping Templar looks better for Protection Paladins. Reticle targeting sounds problematic. Should be mouseover targeting. I donât think tanks want to have to keep track of all the other players to throw out armaments to the right person.
Well, saying âmostâ does imply there are exceptions.
Class fantasy: Just about every warrior that I have known has had the class fantasy of being a thunder/lightning wielding god of steel. So kind of awesome.
The talents look cool. Some op, others are okay, and the last is absolutely awesome and balanced.
Not going to lie, I am disappointed yet again. I refuse to play Fury and Prot is not viable in rated PvP anymore. I play Arms(PvP) and have always loved the thunder and lightning concepts for Warrior. Yet I cannot play the thunder and lightning concept on my character unless I want to play something I absolutely hate or is no longer viable in PvP. My character RP has always been thunder and lightning related, Thane Vendrek Thunderforge <Defender of the KhazâModan Mountains>âŠsmites enemies with lightning leaving nothing but a pile of ashâŠ
We already have talents that are locked behind specialization. I would recommend not locking these âHero Talent Treesâ behind specialization.
