It should have been a dungeon event like “Culling of Stratholme.”
Even break it into multiple parts using Chromie Time.
I swear… for a franchise like Warcraft, that spans 30, 35, 40 YEARS … they really don’t understand the value in that and how Chromie Time is just PERFECT to highlight that most unique thing about this franchise.
Really, can anyone be as cool as Kenny Powers?
I mean, that’s not necessarily true.
It’s true that the curse isn’t hereditary, but it spreads very easy. One lovebite and you’re Worgen, and a single Worgen could bite the entire population of Gilneas.
Yeah, but there’s only one Troll king/queen, the ruler of Zandalari, and Vol’jin is about to become Loa of Kings.
So a Darkspear troll will become the god of the Zandalari queen.
Given that Talanji was bound to Bwonsamdi unwillingly and in horror, I imagine the first order of business for God’jin’s story will be to free Talanji from her unwanted god.
No, no it is not.
Cool and?
Which should of been retconned seconds after being made cannon or even better yet never made canon in the first place
Yeah, but considering how most of the current Worgen feel about the curse and Gilneas breaking its isolationalist policy, we’re very unlikely to see another mass cursing. The curse will continue to pass in small numbers, but that won’t overshadow new generations of non-cursed Gilneans being born. It’s been over a decade since Cataclysm, so there’s already a whole generation (at least) of children out there that don’t turn furry.
You can’t just dismiss something because you don’t want it to be canon.
genn was a pretty bad king
let the man abdicate
It’s not a matter of me not wanting it to be canon it’s a matter of it not making any sense whatsoever considering confirmed ways the Worgen “curse” can be transmitted like at minimum it should be hereditary but very rare but considering it is seemingly Bloodborne as consumption of Worgen blood is infectious it should be 100% hereditary from the Mother.
Genn felt like 90 years old and on his death bed during the quest while Tess had her disney princess scenario.
I’m surprised he didn’t die during the quest from falling over.
Yeah, I’d like to see a better explanation of why it’s not hereditary, but we’ve gotta work with what we’ve got.
The best I can come up with is because it is straight up magic in nature. A worgen bite effectively forces the magic from the Scythe of Elune into you and makes you channel Goldrinn magic.
Once you get your mind purified, you are no longer unconsciously forcing Goldrinn magic into people and thus, would not be passed on unless you do so purposefully.
This is of course just head canon, and really has nothing to do with Tess not being suitable for leading Gilneas, since she is literally the only person in the line remaining to do so.
Uhm…yes? She is the legitimate heir, and it is made clear in the questing dialogue that he believes she will make the better leader given the changes taking place in the world.
How does that matter? Genn was the King both before and after becoming a Worgen, and the surviving Gilnean population is made up of both as well. It’s game mechanics that make all playable members of that nation Worgen, not lore.
I hear tell the Tauren have a flea problem, and the ones in Mulgore are the size of kodo calves. Would you like some of the flea & tick shampoo I use? It’s refreshingly lemon scented.
Your opinion is noted, and you’re welcome to it…but it’s still only an opinion. If you really want to change that, apply at Blizzard HQ for a writing position.
That said, I will agree with you on one point; if a Worgen mother bears a child, the fact that it shares her mother’s blood should pass on the ‘blood curse’ as a matter of course. Blizzard has declared otherwise however, having vaguely deemed it a magical curse that can’t be ‘bequeathed’ in that manner.
Lets be real, it’s incredibly likely they only did so because they know their audience would absolutely love the idea of large, monstruous worgen making babies in the most graphic way possible and they wanted to at least curtail part of that by implying you can’t make more worgen that way lol
He’s like 71 years old lol. Yeah it might be a little meh but bro is old and wants to chill.
Oh, sure. Anyone that actually thinks about the likely result of allowing the curse to be inherited through birth understands that they disallowed it because it’s controversial. I’ve seen a few instances where this was ignored by players in role-play, so there really isn’t a need to have Blizzard ‘officially’ retcon it.
Yeah bet that’s 100% the reason personally think they should of said it’s hereditary but dormant at first until a certain age range is reached and it gain the potential to be made active via some trigger most likely an event that causes the person to feel extreme Rage.
Coincidently, one of the role-play cases I mentioned resulted in the baby (of a human male and Worgen female) seemingly remaining fully human. However, they decided that the child would begin to show signs of the curse after becoming an adult. Because, you know, magic. Not a bad decision, really.
Honestly just get Goldrinn in to bless the Gilnean people to take a curse and make it a blessing suddenly there is reason for some to be Worgen and some to remain human.
She’s still Gilnean
