Since the vapors spawn on a fixed timer, this fight punishes groups that execute the dps mechanics better. If you have strong DPS, you have to hard stop and wait in order to trigger hard mode. This is only going to get worse and more punishing over time as groups get more and more geared.
A way to fix this without making the fight “easier” would be to have the vapors spawn the first time the boss reaches certain HP percentages.
Vapors:
1st: 90%
2nd: 80%
3rd: 70%
4th: 60%
5th: 50%
6th: 40%
7th: 30%
8th: 20%
The Animus would end up spawning around 10-15% HP left on the boss.
This would work for both 10 and 25 man versions of the fight.

I mean fight still is easy
Just stand there until he spawns.
I pump on that fight!

You get to the point where you have to stand there and not dps for 1 to 2 minutes. There is a pump limit on that fight because of this.

I mean sure I agree we are already at that point.
It’s more tedious than hard tho
Which is my point. This change wouldn’t change the difficulty of the fight, it would just make it more fun and less tedious.

I mean, the difficulty of the fight in many ways is mana management, especially for healers. Shortening it just takes an already somewhat easy HM and just obliterates the only slightly difficult thing about it. Idk.

It would make the fight easier, unless you find a way to reduce healer mana accordingly.

“without making the fight easier”
You just introduced a proposal to change the boss, that would make the fight easier.
Imagine the difference in manamanagement on a 2minute Animus Spawn compared to a 4 minute Animus spawn.
…
Well not that anyone would care, since Healer mana never has been an issue if the people healing arent totally ignorant on how to do so on this boss, when people fail at Vezax HM they usually do so by dying to shadowcrashs during Animus, Mark killing people during Animus, then Animus going sky high stacks and killing people.
Or Tanks that just fail with the insane difficulty involved in either calling for external or using self CD every minute, and then dying in a miserably way, while also claiming “not my fault, i used a CD” while Logs obviously say otherwise.
Most of the damage in this fight is avoidable. The groups that a change like this is targeted to reward isn’t taking that damage anyway. Mana isn’t an issue for those groups. It would be almost the same for the average group, but a quality of life change for groups that are excelling.
It would also stop the essential hard cap to parsing potential on the fight, which currently is sort of the case. You have to basically just let only a few people damage the whole fight so they don’t have to stop casting.

what does this even mean ? don’t you beat the boss at the end ? parsing ain’t winning

It’s boring to sit there not able to do anything. That’s punishment. Takes a fight that could be fun and makes it tedious for groups that are doing better. It doesn’t make it hard, just boring.
If you’re bored try healing the fight instead.

The fight is boring, but the entire mechanic is basically healers being super effecient. The whole point of the hardmode is healers lasting through the drawn out fight

Vezax has to be one of the worst bosses I’ve ever done tbh.
lmao it’s just as boring for healers, especially if your ranged dps can dodge remotely competently.
Damage isn’t counted after the boss reaches 5% until the animus spawns, so you should nuke to 5% then stop if you’re trying to parse.
Our healers go into the animus with 80%+ mana. The last minute before animus is just boring.
I like the OPs suggestion.

Ok you wanna make an easy fight even easier. Whatever, I don’t really mind it, or any other little things people come up with. But realistically though… knowing how rarely Blizzard actually does stuff, this is what you’re campaigning for? To shave 2 minutes off your ~200 minute raid night? What’s happening here?

Omg i just love vexax hardmode and not being able to play my character for 2minutes i look forward to it every week especially because last week when i started to look around the room due to boredom i saw a pure saronite deposit then had enough time to wowhead it and check the reddit forums and then i called my wifes boyfriend and told him about it then he reminded me to kill animus real quick thx dude!

While you dpsers can sleep the rest of the team (healers + tank) actually still have to play the fight and the interrupters also. Stop whining while playing something that has nothing to do but dps. You will survive not pressing your buttons for 2minutes.

Healers barely have to do anything until the animus if ranged have brains. This fight is only fun for blood DKs.
