General Forums Already Pushing for Breaking Changes

Sure, but that’s not what this thread is about.

Blizzard will f it up look at BFA.

The ppl QQ the most are heard.

When the ppl that actually love the game are playing it and not on forums.

Change is good not always. If it’s not broken why fix it?

Change to change is not good.

Change for a reason.

Core values of Vanilla should never change.

Now difficulty could.

Let say some dungeons are harder than others but rewards slightly better. Not huge crazy op rewards.

Instead making everything you did previously worthless why not add new content but only itemization not increase ilvl. It helps ppl play as they want and theory craft more. Keeping old content viable.

Actually, much more recently they said they think Classic+ and TBC are both great ideas but that doesn’t fit your narrative so you’ll quietly ignore this fact.

They want community input, you want to shut that input down, Mogar.

Lots of people love classic cars but they also love power steering and some modern amenities added. -The “flavor” of vanilla is all that matters and it is entirely possible to maintain that flavor with some additional zones, raids, and light balance changes.

And those people own modern cars for those amenities. Just like you can, at any time, hop into retail and wallow in all the modern updates it provides.

It’s called Classic WoW.

Not Classic-ish WoW.

So there is no difference to you between a classic car with power steering and a modern car? If so, then you don’t really understand what makes something “classic.” The difficult steering was not what draws people to driving a classic car- it is the style and sense of nostalgia.

I"m not sure if you’re confusing yourself or…

But anyway, I’ll try to say this again, as simply as possible, and I’ll do so without using your classic car comparison, since that seems to be too much for you to handle.

Classic is Blizzards emulation of 1.12. It is not open for interpretation. It is not open for community requested changes. It is Classic, and will forever be Classic.

It is not Vanilla, and it is not Retail with a bad paint job.

It is Classic. Period. And that does not come from me. That comes from Blizz.

The “Flavor” as you put it, is in what it is. Classic.

Adding something to that. ANYthing, and it stops being Blizzards 1.12 emulation.

That means adding any zones. Any requested balance changes. Any raids. Any character updates. Any improved drop rates. Any barber shops.

Classic+ may happen eventually, and that is what you’re looking for. I hope you get it, really I do, because I can imagine it will be pretty enjoyable.

BUT

Classic is what it is and that will never, ever, ever change.

I completely agree there should be separate classic+ servers but do you really think the majority of people are going to stick around on the regular classic servers if there is a prospect of some new zones and content? I guarantee if a classic+ server emerges all you #nochanges people will be the first ones over there. Why? Because a year down the line there will be nothing but frost mages and fury warriors left. Even if you don’t want new zones or raids, 1.12 has flaws and to defend those flaws makes no sense to me.

Yes, I actually do believe the majority of people that WANTED Classic for what it was, will still be playing on those servers if, and when, classic+ servers open.

You fail to see why we wanted classic. Maybe because you just don’t feel like we do, but again that’s ok. Obviously not everyone is going to be clamoring over a 15 year old game.

Well yeah its how its suppose to be, these are “Classic” servers not Classic+ if they want things changed then these people need to wait for TBC or WOTLK servers will will probably be made eventually.

Same people do this to significant others. Never works in the end.

That’s fine, I completely understand if you like it the way it is. I do love the game as it is, I just can’t help but feel a few things might make it better. I also understand that “better” is subjective.

-My only major concern right now is that it feels like half the server is mages. Traditional dungeon groups are pretty hard to find on my server because there is such a small minority of people playing tank. So yeah, it doesn’t really feel like classic to me anyways.

They’ve been doing this all year…

Arguably, this game has already had breaking changes implemented, so why stop there?

All I want is Demon Hunters

Wait. Do you mean players of the current version of the game are asking for changes to the current version of the game? Seriously how much easier could it get? Or do you mean people from the current version of the game are asking for changes to Classic?

How do 2004-2005 players fit in? Were they asking for changes to a version of the game they weren’t playing?

I am confused.

This version of Classic barely has enough legitimacy to call itself Classic. Changes have already taken place before launch.

Any further changes to Classic may very well chase away most current players. Why would Blizzard shoot itself in the foot?

Exactly. That’s what we wanted in the first place. We wanted THIS game back. Not THIS game plus a bunch of changes.

I just want Battle Pets to be brought in eventually.

You can keep asking but hopefully you realize you’re never getting those things in Classic. However, they are already in Retail … so … yeah …
