Naaru communicate through musical intonations in the mind (a radiant song).
Naaru teleport chosen light-faithful populations away from danger.
Naaru cycle from light to void when wounded or dying.
I’m just not sure how intentional these connections are, or if its writers that are less familiar than they could be with the established material stepping on their own feet.
My prediction with Beledar is that the shadow/void state is its natural state. It’s been somehow forced or coerced into an unnatural light phase. After Sargeras’ impact (day of darkness) that magic is breaking down.
Whatever force changed the crystal’s void nature (the naaru, possibly) sent the Arathi Algari Expeditionary Force to Hollowfall. Trapping them there, knowing they would act to “defend” Beledar from the native void-attuned Kobyss.
The Kobyss will be vindicated to some degree by this reveal.
General Steelstrike says: Years later, there was a great rumble. We thought the cavern was going to collapse. It was the Day of Darkness, the first time Beledar shifted to shadow.
Alleria Windrunner says: Then you’ve realized when Beledar shifted for the first time? Anduin Wrynn says: Their Day of Darkness… the same day Sargeras plunged that sword into Azeroth.
PC:Black Blood? What is that? Orweya:It is what you see before you. Blood of ancient enemies that has coalesced deep within the earth. This Black Blood was dislodged when the world itself suffered a grievous wound. It has been spreading ever since… and it is dangerous.
Where is the Black Blood? Just in Azj-Kahet? No. It’s everywhere.
Could be a connection between the arathi and the light, and beledar having crash landed a long long time ago in the sea. When the arathi’s ships were then above the crash site, their connection flipped on the beledar, which caused its dimensional traveling powers to malfunction briefly. Which could’ve teleported the arathi deeper towards azeroths core.
Oshugun as example would say that the void lingers in the area surrounding a crashed dimensional ship, which would point to the skardyn and nerubian having suffered some sort of manipulation (or in the nerubians case being drawn to it), maybe beledar was fearful that they were going to become empowered if it were to ever shift towards the void, and the moment it had light beings within proximity it used its teleportation powers to send “guardians”, the arathi. Once it shifted to darkness after the stabbing the arathi were already there to guard from the nerubians, however because of their reliance on the light the more zealous approach of the dark arathi would’ve been a natural reaction which is where its at now in the story with the human worshippers falling under the spell that beledar feared would infest the nerubians/earthen entirely?
