My Mega Server’s LFG is now filled with people spamming their GS (Gearscore) in order to get into raids, it looks like guilds and even pugs are only recruiting based on GS over anything else.
Just to give you guys an idea of the GS you need to do Naxx/Eye/OS:
3 - 3.5k GS
This would include pre-BiS as well as well as some 213 pieces from PvP or AoV if you can get your hands on one.
Remember that as Wrath progresses just like old Wrath and Warmane there will be higher and higher GS requirements as this will be the new system to gatekeep and make sure groups are getting solid players.
Make sure you download the addon so you don’t fall behind.

You don’t have a guild dude… you are talking to thousands of guilds right now…
Not to be rude, but people with guilds won’t ever have this issue. And to not be in a guild and Raid is a fool’s error…

I feel like 3-3.5k is pretty modest. That’s heroic dungeon gear w/ maybe some rep gear here and there. It certainly could be worse.

Gearscore is not on curse. But “tacotip” claims to do the same thing. Gonna give that a go and see what’s what

You can get that gs with heroic gear no need for anything 213 ilvl. I personally love gs it brings back that nostalgia even more. I am also a sucker and love when the numbers go up.

What exactly is the issue with being able to reference a simple number to gain an idea of a person’s gear level as opposed to manually inspecting them?
I don’t want to raid with sub 3k gearscore people. I don’t care how “easy” Naxxramas is.

You don’t see the dangers of this addon do you? The gearscore is not based on spec, it’s not based on ability and… like you said it gatekeeps, but for all the wrong reasons and ways. Instead of allowing new players a chance, people are actually telling them they are undergeared for the lowest easiest dungeons in wotlk… Turned 70 have the quests nope you can’t do a 15 minute run on a BEGINNER instance!

I should add, I’ve already heard several people complaining about being told their gearscore is too low for regular utgarde keep…
