Hey fellow wowers, hope everyone’s having a great day/night. I’m wondering if anyone could help shed some light on how I can gear up.
I’m currently 3500GS and struggling to find ways to gear up, I don’t really raid as I have a young family and struggle to dedicate a chunk of time to wow.
I have been trying heroics and the titan dungeons but it’s really hard to get into any groups with a gs below 5k it seems.
On that, what gear score should I be to do alpha and run beta titan heroics?. And should I just PvP for a week or so and buy PvP epics?
If you really don’t want to raid then yes you can inflate your ilvl with pvp gear and you can also farm gold to buy boes. But then I ask the question why would you want more gear just to run more dungeons at that point as you do not seem to want to do raids at all. Maybe you should look into just doing only pvp as you can queue for bgs all the time without much problems.
I suggest farming out the pvp gear to help your GS in addition to buying some of the cheap BOE epics on the AH. Some stuff is 232ilvl and goes for under 100g.
Some PvP gear can help your ilvl and are better than most heroic dungeon pieces, for example the Relentless off-set pieces are 245 which you most likely won’t replace until Ulduar 25 or TOGC.
Farm some gold if possible by doing dailies if you still need to finish reps or low dungeon farms then buy some cheap BoE’s from the AH to help your GS a bit.
On my rogue when it was around 4400ish GS I was able to get invited into heroic++ pretty freely so I would attempt to aim around that GS if possible.
Once you do get into heroics it’s very easy to gear further from there since most people don’t need 10man Ulduar tier and it ends up being almost free to pick up at that point.
If you get in mostly 225 ilvl gear and a few 232 crafted pieces and a togc crafted piece or two then you can easily get into 10man ToGC and get trophies for the 245 tier which will insanely boost your damage.
I also highly suggest keeping a lookout for any Ulduar 10man skip runs since the mace from Yogg is insanely good for Ret as a starter weapon (if you play ret that is.)
Amazing thank you, what’s this cheap 232 gear? I brought the chest last night I think it’s 232 or 240 ilvl and it was 4800g lol, I replaced a 78 blue chest
Try getting into Halls of Stone/Lightning specifically. They’re the only betas that are actually easier than their standard heroic versions, so it’s more likely people will accept your lower GS
Other than that…just keep trying, 3500 is more than enough to do any of the betas as long as you know what you’re doing, people are just stubborn and want an easy ride. Eventually someone will actually be willing to help out their fellow player

Ding you just hit level 80. If you did the quest chains getting to this point you should have a decent amount of heroic badges. Enough for 1-2 pieces of gear and maybe some decent blue armor to get started.
Start simple and use the LFG to get your name out there as looking for dungeons and easy raids like VoA… (people run this with way less than 25) no one will care about your GS. Say you’re new.
Then advertise in the LFG channel/community that you are new and wish to gear up. From here you will meet kind people who just need a 5th or something. I’ve geared up many mages and baby tanks and healers and loads of DKs this way. I’m not alone many of us see you and will take you. We can 4 man Betas…
Thank you very much guys. With you help I got to do ToC, VoA, and multiple ++ heroics and went from 3.4k gs to 4.2! Even got a shiny new weapon. I’m saving triumph badges to get the ret Libram as apparently that’s the biggest dps increase item.

do you have professions at all? there are some very decent ways to make gold this phase with zero effort, this may help you nab some more expensive boe items
You pretty much answered your own question there bud. If groups are looking for 5K, then that’s what you need to be. How do you get there?.. Well its either guild or make your own groups.
Yes, PvP grind as thats the only other option available. Don’t believe the “buy X ilvl gear for 100g” people because that gear doesn’t exist. They are pushing you to actually buy gold and join GDKP runs.
The daily heroic quest awards 2 Triumphs (on any version of heroic), and if you complete that dungeon on H++ you get a bag off of the last boss that gives 3 more for 5 total a day from the daily if you do it on H++.
Onyxia gives 3 each for 10 and 25.
Voa gives 2 each for 10 and 25.
Then once you get a little more gear you can do normal 10m ToC which gives 4 per boss (20 total). And then 25m ToC gives 5 per boss (25 total)
