df pvp gear is better than 540’s, but people are getting 570+ which is way better.

You can craft the 606 pvp ilvl gear atm.

How? Isn’t the honor cap 4k and the plans cost 7500?

I’m just gonna wear my DF season 4 conq set and the 4 piece set till honor gr comes out. Rn my pvp gr has like a 5-10% dmg increase over my pve gear. Yeah my HP is slightly lower than others but the dps makes up the difference for me.

Expensive af right now but I snagged a few pieces of the AH.

You can buy the plans off AH.

I’m sure a lot of build will benefit from the Hero talents by losing vers.

Just wear trinkets and use PvE gear? All I know is the Lava-forged cogwheel ring pumps it says 148k proc but it’s slappin for 300-500k.

With that said hope some day they remove the stupid PvP trinket bonus they are really boring compared to PvE trinkets. Let players have some fun and agency.

Yeah, that’s kind of the literal exact idea.

The idea is to wear boring gear?

The reason PvP participation has been dead for several expansion is bad ideas (like PvP trinket bonus) that isn’t getting players excited to play again. Reducing player agency and having no options for gear in a gear based game is how you kill it. This is why Templates were massively hated and failed. /Facts

Lack of pve gimmick trinkets haven’t negatively impacted pvp in any capacity, no.

Unfortunately history isn’t on your side which proves this statement to be factually wrong.

The best times in PvP (because it’s a gear based game) is when gear is really fun and powerful. It’s when players are excited about the gear. The interesting gear has always been from PvE which enhances PvP and creates fun for the majority of players.

The last time PvP was even remotely decent was BFA a time where there was guess what… Powerful gear and players had fun. Balance is largely irrelevant in a gear based game because if the game and gear isn’t fun, no one will play.

Players will always be excited to log in when the game is fun and that fun comes from having crazy powerful gear in a gear based game. History has proven this time and time again. This is why PvP has been dead for several expansion and why Templates failed.

Hey man how are those tbc-wrath servers doing

Were they popular enough to keep around

Oh. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

They were fun. Cata has actually been fun too.

You think you are making a point but you aren’t. This is why I usually have you on ignore but decided to read it.

Yes they are popular but they are going through progressional servers. It doesn’t matter if Cata is popular it’s going away after it’s done it’s phases.

SL and DF failed and had terrible PvP participation for a reason. BFA had some really fun gear and corruption. So players enjoyed it. Of course a lot of players enjoyed older expansions PvP and the powerful items as history has proven.

You aren’t making any argument as usual. You want to fix PvP in a gear based game then make gear really fun. Very simple and isn’t difficult to grasp. Again this is why Templates failed. These are facts.

Oh, were they not popular enough to maintain versions of like they did with vanilla? Huh, weird.

BFA was considerably worse for PVP participation than SL and DF, though.

They didn’t, though.

I wouldn’t mind rating locked gear back but BFA gearing was legit the lowest point the game had seen in recent history minus the Ret rework. :dracthyr_yay_animated: Although most people who actually play know this.

Not little pretenders popping in for 2-3 weeks every launch then disappearing for 6 months after hyping the next version of classic that, unsurprisingly, falls flat.

History proves otherwise.

Again has nothing to do with popularity.

Except it wasn’t. SL and DF have been massive failures and players aren’t excited to play when you force them into specific gear in a gear based game. It’s been proven time and time again.

Disagree, you had visions, 2 weekly chest, Heart of Azeroth which gained power from azerite. You had Raids/Mythic gear and corruption. That sounds like a lot of options to gear your character. The only downside was the initial rotational time-gating on corruption.

Players enjoy the game when gear matters. I’m sorry but what excitement does the PvP trinket bonus provide for the players or viewers? (AWC all time lows in views) The answer is nothing. Now if someone got some really crazy trinket that is exciting that is better for the game. You know it, I know it and the players know it.

  • Balancing the fun and player agency out of a gear based game has never worked and will never work.

What history

If it were popular it would’ve been kept around :dracthyr_heart: Like vanilla was

SL was the fastest selling expac and DF gearing was quite possibly the best PVP has ever had.

95% of pvp chest was garbage

True, just not pve gear because bfa was truly a pit of despair with actual no queues esp on alli

although anybody who played would know this

I quit for 4 years because of BFA, hopefully they never try to repeat most systems that were in it.

DF gearing being bad and BFA gearing/pvp being popular is just the most interesting opinions.
