Gear with separate iLevel for each form of instanced PvE (raid, dungeon, delves)?

Helm of Forum Warring
Raid ilevel: 619
Dungeon ilevel: 597
Delve ilevel: 597

Item: Runestone of Delve Gear Upgrades
Drop from final chest In Tier (x) Delve
Used For: Helm and Pants
Use: upgrades appropriate piece of gear to Delve iLevel 605

New (after use of above):

Helm of Forum Warring
Raid iLevel: 619
Dungeon iLevel: 597
Delve iLevel: 605

And so on…

Why can’t we have something like this?

Intuitive to understand.
Everyone can upgrade gear by just doing the content they are doing FOR the content they are doing.
Simpler than all of this crest track stuff.
Each form of instanced PvE content has it’s own separate progression track.
One type of instanced PvE content doesn’t trivialize other forms of content.
Freedom to choose.
Probably easier to tune and design around.

Thoughts?

Makes no sense to do mythic raids and jump into a delve and have your gear nerfed.

All those separate gear ideas only benefit those who do one mode only, while massively impeding everybody else. I’m always gonna be against those.

Because it’s a terrible idea that acts as a barrier to entry for other forms of gameplay. It really only benefits players that engage in a single activity and role.

Agreed. Always horrible ideas.

But you haven’t actually done any delves, so why should you be effective in delves?

By your logic, if I do a super high delve tier that’s even harder than mythic raiding, then I should get better gear than I would get in mythic raiding, and therefore be able to trivialized raid content.

lolololol. I cant lol enough at this statement

Also, yes…to a point. You can equally powerful gear from M+ and Mythic Raiding, so that already exists. There is no equivalent delve difficulty to either (mythic raids/+10s).

So you can gear in M+ and trivialize normal/heroic raiding. It has been happening for years. Or the other way around…but since M+ is farmable, that’s usually the way it flows.

Would only really work for pvp but thats only because pvp never should of had a form of gear progression to start with.

Welcoming newcomers to pvp with a 30% stat difference should be seen as absurd

It’s not separate gear. It’s one piece of gear with different iLevel tracks for the different types of instanced play.

We already have this for PvE vs PvP.

It’s worked really well and has solved a lot of problems.

Why not for PvE, other than to maintain some form of “mythic raiding” supremacy?

What does this even mean? Joining a heroic dungeon to help a friend shouldnt set you back cause you decided to raid instead of ever doing many dungeons to level up your “dungeon gear”

Agreed.

And what I am suggesting solves this.

Do you not see that?

It’s not a problem. There’s nothing to solve.

You literally pointed it out as a problem. Read your own words that I quoted.

You might be mixing posters my dude.

Is this some ego trip? “Oh, you dungeon? Well i raid. You dont have a right to that ilvl in my raids.”

There is no problem doing other content to gear up for other content.

When are they going to implement a gear upgrade system similar to Destiny? Why do I have to miss out on tier bonuses just because I got an upgrade?

Tomato potato. I’ll give it to you though, at least that fixes the gear clutter issue I usually have with these threads.

This always pops up as if a gotcha thing. Yeah I know pvp and pve have different gear, doesn’t really matter here. You can’t buy all of your pve gear either.

Yeah pvp is thriving right?

this has to be one of the worst ideas presented on GD all year

you want to remove all sense of gear progression from the game. no thanks, sounds awful.

How does this eliminate gear progression?

Each piece of gear can be progressed for the content you are doing by the content you are doing.

I agree, what you can’t do here is get one piece of gear that trivializes other forms of instanced PvE content.

You consider that removing “all sense of gear progression from the game”?

Please explain.
