I’m not talking about consumables. I’m talking about his suggestion to farm gold to use in GDKPs.
no thanks, I’m not going back to loot council, if someone wins that bit of loot at least I get paid for it.
the RMT sucks though, that part is quite rampart, bringing in the wowtoken would just hand the profit to blizzard so that’s not the right step either, saying that how many people rmt for cheaper gold in retail to nab crafted/boe’s?
Look at all these posters who farm thousands of their own gold every day. It’s a wonder all those thousands of bots vendoring dungeon gold 24/7 have anyone to sell to.
On a serious note, you could kill off gdkps and bots overnight simply by drastically lowering the gold cap account wide. But why do that when you make so much money off cheaters?
I’m not a huge fan of the GDKP format, but they’re the only pugs I will considering going on. The reason is leavers. They lose their cut if they don’t stay the full 3 hours. If it’s not a GDKP, the raid is filled with people who can’t sit still for 3 hours. Gotta make another coffee, gotta walk the dog again, gotta be up in 2 hours to feed the baby, gotta be up in 1 hour walk their dog to work on a saturday. Sorry gotta go, ate taco bell earlier need to bio. And no warning alt-F4s. I don’t get why people do that to 24 others. On days I can’t sit still for 3 hours, I go play dota instead.
I’m not here to defend GDKP, but gold trading is the least of this game’s problems.

Yep, 3 hours. 1 hour of boss fights and 2 hours of standing around
I would like to see the stats showing people buying gold and going into GDKP’s. If we had the stats we would know the actual impact instead of simply saying it happens and assuming things. RMT is against tos so when you see it report it. GDKP dont break any tos rules. If you want to ban GDKP please explain how it would be enforced and wording for amending the TOS so we can actually give Blizzard feedback.
Gdkps no doubt add to the bot problem, however if so many people are doing them people obviously like them or else they’re doing something they hate. Rather then banning something people like to try and combat bots, Blizzard should just add the wow token to classic.
this, i made 700k gold from running GDKP’s. if you can run a 2sr/MS>OS you can run a GDKP no problem, believe it or not, you dont even need to talk in discord for most of these gdkps, the good players/carries know what to do and they know whats expected of them to get their cut.
as ive said time and time again, if blizzard really wanted to stop gold selling and kill the botting problem all they would need to do is make guild banks trackable, and follow the money. a level 1 on an account that has reason to carry anything over 500g is pretty sus, ontop of that, loading into the game, joining a guild with a ton of guild in it, pull it out then mailing said gold to whom ever, then the person getting that gold is also on a level 1 account then puts that gold into a Gbank to “wash” the gold and pulling it out on their main account?
Thats probably because the players in question that are leaving are the good players in their guild, if the guild at this point is only doing thorum and freya hardmode and only doing doing prog on the others, why stick around when a gdkp can pretty consistently kill all hardmodes (minus maybe mim and alg).
Yeah, so GDKPs kill guilds. That was my point.
Yes and no, in my experience gdkp servers can often be the equivalent of guild, just with less commitment. Ive been running with the same few dozen people on the gdkp server im in since ssc/tk (with some one ofs aswell) and its felt alot like a second guild at this point. I like raiding and its nice to be able to get paid to raid and have a group that can consistently clear the content with my alts, also if i have to miss a night it doesnt have anywhere near the feels bad as a guild run because filling an open gdkp slot isnt super hard.
No one asked your experience.
I just gave you myself as an example, aswell as the dozen + other players that are activly raiding in their own guilds that GDKPs are not killing guilds, we all like our guilds and anjoy raiding with them respectively, but its also night pumpin it in the gdkp aswell.
This is pretty much how my main gdkp that I run with weekly operates.
I do join some trade/lfg chat ones when I need to gear some new 80’s in Phase 1 raids though and those are more like true pugs.
you do realize blizz does not care about gdkps lol. hell their own QA regularly participates in them and streams it. You’re wasting your time.
