GDKPs are ruining wotlk

i know this is a shocker but the world doesn’t care about you. and unfortunately for him, i don’t care either. its not my place to coddle someone’s feelings. if he wants that he can get that from his girlfriend.

Blizzard implemented a token system in later expansions. What makes you think they won’t with classic? If this is the last classic expansion, they are going to milk it for every penny they can get.
They are NOT going to ban bots unless they can make money off of gold buyers directly.

Well, your lack of caring about others is nothing to brag about. I’d be embarrassed but then again I was raised right.

Good job on defending a loot system though. Amazing ethics.

The true problem with an MMO like Classic Wrath has been too many selfish people, the people who don’t care about anyone else are the ones who drag the quality of the game way down.

Do you consider this the real world? because i don’t. there is only two options when unhappy make changes until you’re happy, or stay where you are. i don’t feel bad or sorry for someone in those scenarios. this failed attempt at wrath won’t matter in 5 years.

the loot system is fine. its blizzard that is the problem. they literally do nothing.

yes i’m selfish with my time. if i raid for 3 or 4 hours. i expect to be compensated for my time otherwise i can find something else to do.

GDKPs have ruined the game. You can keep defending them with your cult like devotion but 1) no one cares what you think and 2) the bots and gold buyers prove you wrong.

Have fun.

Do I think that I should treat people in the game with the same respect as I would someone in the real world? Absolutely. 1000%. This is an MMO, we are not dealing with NPCs. So people treating others properly is the right thing to do even if I only see their avatars and am not face to-face.

I don’t care about the GDKP loot system. I don’t care if you raid with it and like it. I care about the core issue that caused the OP to make this thread and that’s it and that’s why I posted in this thread.

You said somewhere here that the people who bash others for not parsing 99s are the problem with this game. I agree, but that stems from the same empathy-free and selfish (not caring about the person) place that you come from, and in my opinion, this all makes the game experience worse.

There is no point in continuing this discussion but I do thank you for showing who you are at your core as it explains some things.

To the OP on the tiny chance he’s reading this:
If your guild can’t survive and doesn’t want to just drop to 10s, and if you still want to play, maybe look into being absorbed into another guild of like-minded people.

Make sure they fit and make sure that you are either a second raid team or at least you aren’t just bench players. See who of your players would be willing to swap classes which could help with finding the best fit. Do not merge, those rarely work, absorptions work way better. Do not set a bunch of conditions.

You’ll lose the tag and you will start “at the bottom” but you will still be able to play with your crew. The guild I run has a group just like this. They do 10s on Fridays with their tight core and have integrated very well with our guild group and 25 man, my old guild from way back absorbed about 3 guilds over a period of years. so I can say for sure that this can work if done right. Your guild may die but this could mean saving another. Good luck to you.

“gdkps are killing the game”
meanwhile in lfg “link gs, hardmode achieves, and warcraft logs for invite”

Guilds come and go for various reasons, and odds are his died for some reason other than GDKP’s. Odds are the guild died due to the transfer, as you admit you often lose people in the process, he wasn’t able to recruit due to being a new guild on the server and it collapsed.

Yes someone probably mentioned GDKP’s in the process, some people will take that route, but generally speaking anyone that would throw off a guild completely in order to take that route I wouldn’t want in my guild to begin with. They are in it strictly for selfish reasons which doesn’t make for a good long term situation.

Good healthy guilds are losing very few players to them. Even ours who isn’t doing HM 25’s have had no issue with retention, in fact we’ve grown. I’ve found the people that truly enjoy the guild atmosphere are much more concerned about having a good time than pushing content or the gear. Sure you want the gear but it isn’t the primary concern.

“Bruh just do dailies on like 2 toons.”

Could be worse. I would be far more embarrassed to be caught in a joke system like EPGP

Oh I don’t think that the OPs guild died because of GDKPs. I think that he blames them though.

I saw about 75% of the horde guilds that transferred from Earthfury to Faerlina die within about 4 months. I blamed the transfering for that, and losing people when transferring was part of it, but I also know that there tends to be more to the story.

I’d just rather be there for the person over worrying about defending a loot system. Especially since the majority on this forum don’t care about the big picture so I’d rather give real advice or support. There have been a handful of other threads that have gone the same way.

Yeah totally get it.

We have several guild members that use them for alts, and despite the yellings of the mad men, no they don’t buy gold. Most of these guys are pretty solid at making it themselves, or they just have used the funds from those to buy from those.

For our members they have been a way to easily make some funds or just a good way to get reliable gear on the alt. It ebbs and flows based on how many alt runs we are doing but they have actually been kind of a nice side hustle for several of our members since TBC.

I mean we did them back in the original version of Vanilla, it just had a slightly different form. It’s why I think worrying about it is silly at this point. That battle was lost nearly 20 years ago.

So the OP got called out because instead of just stating that his guild was having recruitment issues, which is entirely relatable, he chose to blame GDKP’s for his problems and also label everyone who does them as gold buyers. Both of which are BS.

And I see zero indication that the OP doesn’t also fall into that category of selfish people who only care about themselves.

His raid team was bad and people quit.

Wheres his proof they all went to gdkps instead of doing a gdkp maybe the week of the missed raids and apped to new raid teams?

Most people who gdkp are doing it on alts and they raid in a guild on their main.

Or like me, raid in a raid team on my main and only do old tier content on main in gdkps like i did in TBCC on my hunter cuz im a raid logger

So now that we are in p2 i do all of phase 1 content gdkps and 10 man ulduar gdkps.

I raid 25m ulduar in my guild.

There are zero reasons to discuss things like empathy for others with you Drinknblink so I’m not going to bother. I’ve tried before and it’s pointless. I said what I wanted to say on this thread already.

I wasnt trying to discuss empathy.

That’s fine, what you said isn’t related to what you replied to then.

Yes it was.

You said his raid only had 19.

You speculated something and so did i.

I said the other people prolly left cuz the raid was bad, did a gdkp that week cuz they left while they applied to other guilds.

Then told you that most people arent doing gdkps as a form of main raiding.

I used GDKP like old school DKP points. I started low as f on gold. Got some min bid items made some gold… Ran more crap I wanted didnt drop but items for other peeps did I got paid. Ran more got min bid or low bid items got geared from them with Alot of 2nd and 3rd bis items. Might not have bis bis but we talking a few dps difference. In each one I made gold or broke even expect one time I got a high ticket item and lose a couple K gold. BUT now im over 100k chillen geared and playing as a carry in the gkps making 10k+ a week one a alt. My main char though AH god made over 100k on him cause well I knew how to work TSM

Yeah they have the same talking points. They probably carry them around on cards so they can remember what to say.
