Hi, regarding the GDKP ban and what falls under the ban there is some confusion about the verbiage for some of us. And I have failed to find the answer anywhere.
The two quotes are as below.
First one mentions more like a standard GDKP where you are auctioning off each item and the second one is more specific and any gold trading trading is against TOS. But to keep this more specific I wanted to just ask about Dungeon item carries. People say for instances “WTS Mara boss AFK run get your Blade of eternal darkness yada yada” As far as I am aware no one has been ban for this but with this GDKP ban being relatively newish still that doesn’t mean much.
Can we get an official comment on this?
Any of these answers from a rep I would find 100% acceptable.
Against the GDKP rules,
Not against the GDKP rules,
Grey area currently proceed with Caution.
Oh I aint doing any carries atm. It is very much a grey area since they made it sound like its against tos with the GDKP ban but you see it spammed non stop and no one gets banned for it. Just would be nice for an official comment. Saw another topic earlier today trying to get clarification. Thought worth a try in the customer support section. But I guess SoD is the only version they don’t support since I saw many Cata posts being answered in there as well.
They cant be anymore clearer then whats posted if you see someone advertising report and move on despite what you believe which is inaccurate blizzard does take it seriously.
What are you even saying lol? Such a Bizarre reply when just trying to get clarification on a rule.
If you see a rule that is specifically targeting one thing but has language that targets another thing and you see the other thing still rampantly happening with no consequences how is it ever a bad thing to get clarification if they ever actually meant to include the secondary thing.
Is in every case a way to find loopholes or go around said rule.
Dont trade iems for gold. Dont trade favors for gold. Dont carry people. Thats it. No need for any clarification.
You just want clearly defined boundaries because you intend to skirt as close to them as allowed and want full assurance of no consequence. Needing to know how far you can push is a sure sign of wanting to circunvent the spirit of the rule by sticking to the letter of it. And most often than not, such a mindset comes from the expectation of monetary gain.
Okay you are going to have to re specify on what you are saying at this point.
“Don’t trade favors for gold”? You know boosting is still allowed right?
GDKP ban is specifically in reference for items.
Listen, its clear I disaprove of the entire thing: carries, boosts, GKPS. Transactional behavior irks me quite a lot. So Im biased.
But honestly? You asking clarification is also suspect af. If you dont intend to do near-rule breaking things, why would you care to be super clear about them? Why pretend its healthy fun when you know you just want to see how much you can get away with?
But if you wanna play the fool and delude others about being ‘just curious’ go ahead. Hopefully blizzard’s lazyness wins out, they dont clarify anything, you take a gamble and eat a ban.
??? Okay so don’t play on thursdays as you will get ban from WoW if you log in during thursdays.
GDKP bidding vs selling a dungeon spam in order to get a specific item is pretty different. And has very clear lines. There is nothing Suspect about wanting to know if they actually meant to include something that they aren’t enforcing in any way. GDKP is enforced, and dungeon spamming for a specific item is not.
You are trying to through it into the argument “what if we used feathers instead of gold and do GDKP that way” That is skirting and trying to be smart aleck. This is 2 different ways of carries.
