A lot more RMT happens in the AH, everyone seems to be fine with it.
imagine a company that literally made a pay to win game recently doesnt care about pay to win, wew lad, as they say.
How would you propose they ban GDKPâs?
No reason to ban gdkps, its a legitimate loot system. Itd be like saying ban ms>os because of ninjas.
They need to enforce RMT bans, thats all that needs to happen. Anything further than that is just appeasing to whiners for the purpose of appeasing the whiners
What am I saying Iâm entitled to? I have good gear, I earned that through 30-40 weeks of raiding every single week in a guild. I donât often run in our guilds gdkps, I usually run 1 or 2 a month to get the gold I need for consumables and thatâs it. I do not try to control how other people play the game as you do.
If other people want to run exclusively GDKPâs 24/7 thatâs their prerogative and I donât care what they do with their time because it doesnât effect me (and it doesnât effect you either as I laid out above. These guilds will only play with you for a profit incentive. If they have no incentive they wont play with you. Because you either bad at the game or have a greedy mentality when it comes to gearing). If they banned gdkps I can promise you my guild would just stop running BT/Hyjal 5-7 days a week doing gdkps and go play other games. They might keep 1 day for alt raids for people in the guild and thats it. The end result would be a dead feeling server in the middle of raid tiers when all the top guilds conclude raiding to play other games or only keep their main raid going.
BTW this somewhat happened in T5 pre-nerf. Vash was fairly challenging to carry people through. A lot of the âgoodâ guilds consolidated raids to a few nights a week of mains and alts within the guild and didnât run as many GDKPâs. If they did it would be 4/6 or 3/6. GDKPâs only came back in a big way after the nerfs when it was easier to carry people
Gold buying effects you, and botting effects you, both of these issues need to be addressed. If they are solved a lot of the issues you have with GDKPS will be solved. The problem is the amount of gold these items are going for, 6k for a T6 token is not a âreasonableâ amount of gold for one player to farm legitimately. Clearly this is bought gold or botted gold which has created massive inflation in the economy that everyone has to deal with. If the economy was un-inflated then these items would probably be going for 1k-2k which is a more âreasonableâ amount of gold for one person to farm legitimately.
You will have a very hard time trying to make an argument that I am entitled. Everything I have on my characters I have earned through playing the game over a long period of time in a guild with like minded individuals while parsing 99âs and 100âs. The OP wants to be handed things by other players who invested the time to get the things He/She has not earned.
Yes the problem is these players think that if GDKP were rid of that the carriers participating in them would be doing the old raids still but with a different loot set, that isnt the case. Its more a waste of time for the good raiders.
Agreed.
My issue isnât with GDKPs themselves⌠itâs with what theyâve become. Itâs all pure greed and entitlement these days.
Auction House is the biggest thing for RMT yet no one talks about that.
Remove the AH.
I support GDKPs that give cuts of the carries to buyers if they are outperformed.
I mean bene gdkp everyone gets a cut.
I think the problem with your stance is that you identify anyone that doesnât have the gear as not âgood raidersâ. A bit odd. Could you imagine a 100 parser rerolling on a megaserver and getting treated as nothing because his character didnât have gear.
I wonder if theyâd even believe himn when he linked his logs. The way modern gamers hate each other and devalue the time and experience of others is amazing.
I donât think the top guilds are going anywhere, what else are they going to do or play?
If they did refuse to run with the other players on the server, the other players on the server would form more guilds and run pugs. I pugged raids in WotLK and enjoyed it thoroughly. We rolled on drops, free.
When you say GDKPs are pillars of vanilla, are you referring only to Classic? I was in the top Horde raiding guild on my particular server in vanilla in the mid 2000s and we did not have GDKPs or gold carries. Occasionally we picked up players from other guilds to fill empty spots. If nobody needed the gear that dropped, the fill-ins could roll on it free.
I dislike gdkps because they no longer make guilds to be mandatory. They contribute to, not cause, the lack of social interaction required.
Kara Gdkps are whack. But also you dont need anywhere near that and most people wonât do a budget check anyway.
And after a few runs you shoudnt be a pure buyer anymore.
Tier in SWP gdkps is barely ever going for 5k these days. With 8k you could but every single item in Kara.
Tldr: That group leader was whack. There are also always SR karas on Vene
They basically didnt exist until 2010, def not vanilla. About halfway through wrath is when they really took off.
Not true they were on my server in original Tbc.
I think youre probably remembering incorrectly. Google doesnt even return a hit on the word until sometime in 2010.
These threads are always weird, this one seems to be someone in full blues complaining they canât instantly catch up to players who have raided every lockout by farming gold for a week and saying they have to buy it when thereâs like 500 sr runs going on per week, just odd.
Iâve been logged onto bene for 53 seconds and thereâs 6 SR runs currently going on, 3 BT, 1 kara, 1 za and 1 hyjal (but only azgalor and archi left)
OP, May I humbly recommend adding paragraphs and a TLDR summary in the future. I think your argument would reach more people if you did.
That isnât the case on my server Sulfuras, in fact when we see a surge of raids itâs 90% gdkps.
