GDKP it’s not that bad . Compared to SR raids . If you don’t get gear at least you win some amount of gold and you can pay your repair bill and consumables at least.
I know that there are crazy amount of payments in raids . But just think about - out there are players wich do GDKP since 2019…
GDKPs in its original form was ok… but what we have today is not that. Once items sell for close to 10k+, its just suss.
Only a hand full of people can amass that amount of currency. The only thing I would like to see is not how someone came about all his/her gold. But how much hours played they have. I am willing to bet there just dont have the amount of hours needed in-game to amass that fortune.
You can “amass that amounf if currency” in like 3 weeks of going to gdkps.
Thats what you anti gdkp people refuse to understand, if you actually went to gdkp runs you would be able to afford bidding 10k+ on items on a monthly basis without ever buying gold. And thats just from 1 character, if you run gdkp on multiple characters you will be rolling in gold. Not to mention you can still farm gold in your downtime.
You have to realize that era servers are filled with players with multiple geared characters with 4+years of accumulated wealth. If you have well geared characters you can use your raid lockouts to generate loads of gold while simultaneously helping groups clear raids to gear up their characters. The entire system is symbiotic and everyone benefits, and the alternative, which we’ve seen playout multiple times before gdkps really became popular in previous wow expansions,is that the veteran players just dont raid lower tier raids anymore and people starting the game late find it nearly impossible to break into raiding, until blizzard added catchup mechanics to essentially circumvent any need for progression through lower tier raids.
And you just dont get it. I am not going to join today’s GDKPs that WILL have whales that have swiped their credit cards to buy items. I will not contribute to gold buying.
Another part for me at least… there isn’t enough gold in wow that will make me raid multiple times a week. No gracias! lol
Well thats your choice i suppose.
Meanwhile the people that aren’t taking some kind of fruitless “moral” stand against gdkp groups are getting to play the game, clear all the content, never have to worry about gold for consumables, can raid on their own time by joining gdkps that fit with their schedule without worry about a guild benching them because they decided not to raid for 1 or 2 weeks, and they can freely persue pieces of gear for pvp/offspec they normally wouldn’t be allowed to roll on in normal groups.
The majority of people have figured out that gdkp is a sweet deal if you actually enjoy doing endgame content and dont want to spend half your playtime farming gold to afford it.
I’ve cleared all content… 15 years ago.
Is there something new that Im missing? I dont think so. But you can continue to contribue to gold buying and making stuff on the AH supremely overpriced. That is fun for the overall community.
Ok, so why exactly are you playing era?
To pvp.
Once SoM2 comes out Im thinking about raiding again. But I will never step foot in a GDKP.
Ok, so why do you care about gdkp groups if you aren’t even engaging in that content?
Are you seriously asking that question? lol
Yes, i am.
Because it ruins the economy most simple answer.
The prices of consumables are just about the same if not cheaper than they were in 2020.
And anyone that goes to gdkps will make 10x+ their consumable costs from splits. Anyone that actually engages in endgame can afford everything with plenty to spare
You are truly trying to sell GDKPs to someone that has zero interest in them. For every + you think you have. I can give you a - in return.
Lets just agree to disagree.
I like SR.
Potential friendships
Well, the consumables, at least. My Dreamfoil takes care of the rest. I always find Dreamfoil, and they’re always profitable.
Im not trying to sell anything, im merely pointing out the facts.
The majority of the community is already "sold’ on gdkps as a loot system, hence why it is by far the most used loot system now.
The only “issue” is the anti gdkp crusaders that are trying to petition blizzard to ban them from running because they blame them for RMT existing and insist on spreading the narrative that everyone that runs them is a gold buyer
Which is a silly argument 'cause it’ll exist with or without GDKP.
That being said, GDKPs are still silly. I find it on the same level as in-game gambling. You should be allowed to still participate in GDKP, but it shouldn’t be advertised. And, no, “no advertisement =/= no more GDKPs”. As in-game gambling still happens despite not being allowed to advertise.
You’ve missed the point. Entirely.
What I’m saying there is no more value or prestige in obtaining gear. Now you can (legally) just swipe a credit card with absolutely zero consequence or effort at all.
The game has become chasing whales trying to extract as much value from these cc swipers as much as possible.
Look at other platforms that have p2w mechanics and ask me how well they received. Diablo Immortal was so bad it’s become a meme. Diablo III RMAH was so negatively received they had to completely revamp the mechanics and play-style for a game and removed it entirely.
No, you missed my point.
No, it’s this “first”/“competitive” mentality.
Did… did you just quote your original post that I replied too? Either you’re trolling or mentally unwell, either way… Adieu.
