I’m level 67 (I know this says lower it hasn’t updated) and I’ve been watching LFG chat while leveling. There are no pugs just MS/OS or SR anymore it’s all GDKP. To make it worse, I see tons of ZA GDKP groups (a catch up raid by design) saying they are gear checking and want you in “T6 gear only.”
I totally get that Blizzard wants to make some changes to ensure the classic feel - GDKP needs to go for that classic feel to return.

GDKP is vastly superior to those other systems for pugging but yes Deux is right you can form your own groups.
To further explain why its superior using your character as an example, you are currently on a journey where the moment you step into raids, atleast initially, others are going to have to carry you. In an environment where old raids are being ran and youre getting geared up while noone else is, instead theyre walking out of it with only your gratitude, who all is having fun? You, only you.

I wonder how many carries would show up to gdkp raids if the pots werent 15-20k gold cracking down on bots and RMT would hinder gdkp tremendously
Literally all of them would still go if RMT was actually banned. Payouts would be lower, but it’s still the best loot system because the raid needs to clear content, and everybody stays till the end.

As for the buyers, get ready for this… The lower the prices on the items the more people in the pool that can afford them. Shocker I know.
If it werent for GDKP thered be no reason for people that dont need to run that raid to run that raid. GDKP even at vastly smaller pots still make the content worth running.

LOL, so yesterday in BT a shoulder tier piece sold for 25k gold in a gdkp I was in. 25,000 gold for 1 piece of loot. Now there are people who are running GDKP’s weekly making gold effectively laundering from RMT and thats how they afford those things but lets be real most buyers cant be legit, most have to be RMT for the carriers to make enough money to then be in the game of spending 20k+ on 1 piece of gear to do 3% more dps.
GDKP’s are not the problem, RMT is but sadly GDKP’s are the main source of how to launder the gold from RMT buyers to non RMT buyers. Which then effectively makes a new player have to RMT because no one is running old content to help anyone gear, you have to pay someone for it, because everyone is constantly going well whats in it for me, your not paying me to raid…
The wow community is kinda lame in this way in 2022.
By not helping other people, you then have less people geared, that makes less people to raid with, less people to do xyz with. However its a community issue and wont actually change. Only solution is personal loot but like the above posters say, ppl will just stop running the older raids because the belief system of why do it if there is nothing in it for me.

Yes and if someone bought tier shoulders for 25k this late in the game itd be all over reddit and youtube. It never happened. You should have said something like 8k-10k and you may have more people believing you, although not much more.
