Most people that are complaining about GDKP are people that were warned that classic wasn’t a drop for x amount of months and come back type of game. Now they come back and can’t get their pretty little equips and are mad about it.
We warned you that it wasn’t that type of game.

They can’t bother to join a guild and clear content
Mad that pugs won’t take them
Mad that the Gdkps that would take them have requirements and they don’t have enough gold for the most sought after pieces and ignore that most tier pieces are going for 50g in BWL and AQ
Somehow think individual players have the ability to end botting and in game currency buying with RMT, a problem all popular MMOs have had since their launch to some extent
So come on folks, let’s argue for the millionth time about how playing this game is evil if you do it slightly differently from 2005

This is what is super funny to me. Gdkp is such a blessing to casual players because there are only a select few pieces that actually go for thousands of gold. You want tier 2 on your char? You could probably buy the entire set for no more than 1k gold. Very simple to farm.

Forum complaininers have no foresight or drive to play the game they are crying about. These are people who spent 20% of their time in game and 80% on the boards with 12 different chars being posted on that have 8000+ total messages. This person refers to people playing the game as sweaty and will beg for convenience in TBC for the next half year straight until the classic series becomes just like retail and in the end they will blame everyone but themselves for what they caused.
Disgusting.

GDKP complaining has only increased dramatically recently because the vast majority of guilds stopped officially running all content outside of Naxx. GDKP has been going on since late phase 3/early phase 4 but all the GDKP complainers picked phase 6 to complain why?
People should’ve known that /roll pugs weren’t going to last this late into the game for things like ZG, MC, Onyxia, BWL, and to some extent AQ20/AQ40. If GDKP wasn’t a thing the vast majority of the people doing pug raids just wouldn’t do old raids at all and they would still end up with the same problem.

Idk about pugs not existing. On decently populated servers like mine people run SR pugs for basically everything outside naxx. I personally do SR runs for most of my raids and they form all the time all week

I guess your mileage may vary.
SR pugs from what I’ve seen still go on a decent amount but it’s not like the way they used to for BWL and everything before it. You have to pick certain dates/times and have the right connections to get rostered, and even then the 1 or 2 items that you might actually need are on hard res or soft reserved by 12 different people. Even though things like DFT, Neltharion’s Tear, Dark Storm Gauntlets etc were frequently on hard res you could still find a pug run that didn’t hard res but that’s rarely the case anymore.
A lot of people just realize that we are too late into the game to rely on /roll because they might never see some of these drops ever again before whatever comes next after classic. Some people can go 3-4 months without seeing something like a Neltharion’s Tear.

“Join a guild” ?
Who do you think runs GDKPs?
Guilds.
Why do they run GDKPs?
Because the costs of mats are inflated.
Why are they buying mats instead of farming?
Because bots control the farm.
So, this whole “can’t bother to join a guild and clear content” is nonsense.

My guild is taking a week off from AQ40 because the superbowl conflicts with out Sunday night raid.
I still need Death’s String (RIP, it never drops) so I’m doing an AQ40 SR /roll pug tonight.
It took my 5 minutes to go to my realm discord’s LFG channel and find an SR PUG.
The crybabies and whiners are just lazy, lazy, lazy. They insist everyone else is playing the game wrong, yet they are too lazy to lead their own group that does it the “right” way… or even go find one of the existing groups.
I have no respect for these babies. They need to go back to retail and leave classic alone.

Yeah, most servers have SR pugs. I’m on Earthfury horde like the poster you replied to. My guildie just ran a ZG SR pug and it was a super smooth run, he advertised it in LFG so no pre-planning was needed.
Granted, most people wanted the idols from that so it would be more reliable to buy that from a GDKP but to say there are no SR pugs is a weird statement. Earthfury has lots of GDKPs but plenty of SR runs too. You can even get into others guild runs who will let you SR for things like AQ40 because guilds will have people not show up for some or off-day raids.

On my server there are SRs for every raid scheduled weekly.

Sounds like a mega server problem to me. That is not an issue on my server.

Yes. I didnt run any old content until gdkps came to our server. This way casuals can come get carried and raidiers can get gold for consumes. I run a gdkp just so my guild has gold for consumes. 1 hr 400 to 1000 gold. Best gold per hour in the game.

Wonderful system that keeps the bots busy farming that gold people spend on GDKPs too. And people want the bots gone? Shame on them! How else are people going to pay for bids?
Get rid of GDKP tomorrow does gold buying go away tomorrow? No? Well then thats not the problem to begin with.

Why do you incest that bots only exist for gdkps. I am pretty sure most things but plaguebloom was more in phase 3 then now. I can farm 100 gold an hr. Why would it be hard to get couple thousand gold to buy stuff in gdkps. Before gdkps people just sell accounts.
Yea edgies going for 7k wasnt an issue right but god gdkps break the game.

are you implying SR runs arent ran just as frequently as gdkps?
I quit in early p2. jumped back in on my warrior and have gotten a lot of the stuff i need for free in SRs.
also can just as easily jump into gdkps just to make gold.
THIS EXACTLY
Or how rankers literally spent thousands of gold a week per person on consumables and engineering materials which lead to some premades spending upwards of 5k-10k gold a week across 15 people, and they did this for months on end without ever stopping to farm because all they did was honor farm. I wonder where people think all that gold came from?
