With PvP servers being changed into PvE servers for this merge, will the GDKP Ban also come to MoP?
Mega Servers have seemed to always come with a GDKP Ban. For example the SoD and Anniverary Realms.
The SoD and Anniversary versions of the game are great because of the Mega Servers allowing the game to feel full all of the time. Part of that full Classic World of Warcraft feeling has also been the GDKP Ban on the Mega Servers.

No shot, it would kill the game.

Yeah increasing rmt by 30x really made fresh feel good.

Crazy how people that hate/dislike GDKP always want them banned instead of just not doing them and let people enjoy the game how they want to play it
Wonder what the prices of everything will be like with all bots on one server my guess is about the same maybe lower

Can you imagine they ban GDKP on the version of the game where they supply WoW tokens?
I guess people just don’t think these days.

-gdkp is not just a loot rule, people use gdkp for a better raid environment.
-some players won’t fit into late game if gdkp doesn’t exist, also if gdkp is gone that won’t improve or increase the pugging.
-cus people who don’t wanna use gdkp is still pugging and people who use gdkp won’t bother running raids
anyway if you want a solution for the whole issue of gdkp and whatever effect it does on the game, it’s too late! people been doing those gdkp since classic 2020 in multi expansions and it’s very hard to stop that right now, and even if blizz banned gdkp’s the people will still run it in secret or make a new method to still buy / sell gear.
but speaking about solution the best solution that can help a lot exist already and blizzard can bring it which called “personal loot” even though it might not help much because guilds/sellers will still sell raid service “allowing you to join the raid only if you paid xxx gold” as if it’s invitation price and then it’s your luck if you win something by either the standard personal loot or the bonus roll.
but i don’t think blizzard will bother about this all, in fact i do 100% believe that blizzard will re-take back their words and unban gdkp from TBC anniversary, that’s for sure.

No way they will. Content creators are in the driver seat. They are the only feedback thats taken into account. They milk GDKPs.
I got nothing against GDKPs. If somehow Grobb gets them I will partake, but im just telling you how I see it with GDKPs.

Very unlikely but I wouldn’t mind them pushing personal loot for pugs.

It would just be worked around. In Legion I remember even items won with personal loot being traded to the leader. Then say you add a % of players in the same guild threshold to the mix. Well then you just hit that number. Full guild group required? Join or no invite. It is what it is.
This is mostly about not having to rely on master loot to pug which for me is a big turn off to pug as if I pug with a random group I don’t know if the leader can be trusted. If you want to do some stuff with it have fun with that.
If I wanted really to stop selling gear you’d first ban advertising of it, add personal loot then remove loot trading.

That would work of course. I just lack faith in any of it happening unfortunately.
it wont. GDKP ban didnt kill sod, wont kill mop.

no, the ban on sod and fresh was proven to do more harm than good

with zero world pvp to kill them!
I also agree with that as well but sadly blizz said it’s never coming so no point in talking about it
No, I agree. The damage is done, and it won’t be coming to MoP… they can’t even connect realms because they are too busy with housing (their words, not mine).
Huge difference between the two. The GDKP ban was well received overall in SoD and Anniversary, despite what you hear from the very vocal minority on the forums (even on wild growth in SoD during P1, any advertisement of GDKP runs BEFORE the ban were universally clowned on).
In the cases of SoD/Anniversary, the ban was implemented basically on the start, so there was no foundations of a GDKP community on those versions. However in MoP, there is already multiple GDKP communities and if they banned it straight out in MoP, they would loose a good chunk of players. It certainly wouldn’t kill the game like some people would like to believe, but it would be a noticeable drop in players. I personally don’t like GDKP myself, but it would be unfair to those who have been doing it since 2019 on these realms to just have it ripped from them after 6 years, regardless of what your view is on it.
I don’t think personal loot would really be necessary for raiding at this time, but they 100% need to implement it for LFD. It would kill a lot of the toxic kicking behavior from people vote kicking just because a player shares competition with their pieces.

GDKP raids are the most organized and efficient raids I’ve ever participated in. Clearing all Heroic content in less than 4 hours while making nearly 100k gold at the same time is what I call a good raid night.
Wow Tokens exist in this version of the game. Banning GDKP raids would make zero sense.
