Not really friend, but I’m getting there.
It’s nice to have a day off, I had a really rough day the other day. I caught one of my best friends from work stealing on top of this…So that wasn’t fun. Unfortunately it’s part of the job, and if he steals from the store he’s essentially stealing from me and any other person who works there. Especially considering he knew he was on camera and he knew I was watching.

You got it in one good sir. That is exactly the issue.
It’s interesting, out of the 25 people or so that spoke to me after the fact that worked with this guy for years because he was a long time maintenance guy there(10 years+ …he was 64 years old to give you an idea), approx. 40% said I did the right thing, 30% said I did the wrong thing and the other 30% said I didn’t know what I was doing and shouldn’t be working there.
It all depends on what pair of gnome goggles you pick up, everyone sees the world differently and given his long tenure there, I am certainly not surprised by the reaction. Especially with me being new.
What they don’t realize is…I have sequential photo’s that show him tilting the box forward taking one out and putting it back on the shelf (This guy stole a freakin’ band aid…a band aid…something that can be store-used out, or hell…most employees knew and were friends with this guy including me, I would’ve bought the damn box for him…but he chose a subversive route)
The other half of this coin is, I can’t show them anything because it’s pending review by the union because he is a union worker, and because its still technically under investigation, I’m not allowed to show them anything…which makes it worse as I am sure you can understand.
