Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully your work day goes by fast!
So Iām thinking that once we are past Covid I will be looking to get my Vet Tech certification completed. Unfortunately cat declaws are still performed in my state but I have found a local vet that declines to do them! Itās only like 20 minutes from where I live. I could totally do that. I miss working with animals.
You should pursue this and enjoy helping the critters while making your world a bit larger. Not sure it will help contain any misanthropic feelings you may have though depending on what you see.
I have worked at a vet before. Hired while in high school to take care of critters that were boarded, groomed, and what not. Moved up to Vet Assistant but found filing and phones rather boring. Started to assist more in hopes of going more of the Tech route. Until they had me assist in a declaw surgery. Now that was about two decades ago so Iām sure lazer declaw may be somewhat ābetterā in terms of recovery for the cats. Iām still not sold of whether or not the surgery should be performed at all. There are states that do not allow it. Mine is not one of them. I have to locate a vet that just refuses to do them.
I dunno Iāve seen some really wonderful people step up for animals over the years too though. I still have hope for a portion of humanity.
I hear you. California only forbids declawing native wild cats and exotic cats, though a lot of cities forbid it. I do not understand the idea of owning an animal but not wanting it to behave like it naturally does. Training it to claw/mark specifically designed things, sure, but modifying it to fit our vanity seems misguided.
All of our cats have been adults who have shown up in our yard and informed us that we are now their new humans. We have one now that looks to be in transition to move in but our 19 year male old is having none of that. This will be interesting.
Good afternoon fellow wow players, just want to hide myself in here from the drama haha
Good Afternoon everyone!!
