Huhh I just had an experience. Had someone who sought me out for a commission but instead of wanting to use my contract they wanted me to go at 10 USD for 2k words. When I do commissions for people I go by my contract or something close to it as I am doing the writing, not something someone else wrote up for me.
Anyways when they saw my prices they got really angry at me, said I was ripping everyone off and some other horrible thing and left. I just find that odd as my current prices, 0.04 cents a word and 0.06 cents a word are very very cheap compared to other freelance authors and editors. My editor for my Zulfucht novel was about 0.16 cents a word or more(I think closer to 20 cents.) I think someday I can have the experience to charge higher but I am not there yet.
