Attacking guards could actually earn one negative reputation and if you were in a group, if one member of the group attacked a guard, then everyone got the negative rep. It was a real problem since most activities had PUGgies in them and by ignorance or malice they could really affect one’s standing.

I did something similar back in ye olde Warhammer Online days, we were assaulting a keep, and little known to me stands 5 very hard hitting npc’s necessary to kill before you can capture it right…sounds easy, but not when you factor in PvPers that are in there WITH YOU…makes it complicated… So there was a pull order to this, 2 hero’s, then 2 champs then the lord…in that order.
Me being a noob…and not really understanding threw a massive aoe into the room and accidentally pulled everything…much to the detriment of my warband at the time… I still get amusement outta that one 
First question my friend sitting next to me who introduced me to MMOs this way, swiftly asks “WHAT DID YOU DO!!! DID YOU AOE?” …my response… “Whats an aoe?”

My version of that was misapplying a lesson. My warrior (rather than me, of course) was terrible at PvP in Vanilla. I got chewed out for not using crowd control. A week later we’re in one of the quillboar dungeons and I’m getting hammered as the healer was OOM. Then I remembered the warrior’s CC, fear. Guildies start yelling that the feared adds are now scattering through the dungeon, bringing family, friends, complete strangers and even a mob PUG or two. We got slaughtered. LOL
It was somewhere around there they quietly started convincing another member to level a bear tank. He turned out to be great in Crusade and I ended up with Pen here and being a good, if not stellar, healer.

Why is my brain like this.
For ONCE I felt like writing something with my tiefling character. I open up word. Suddenly all my brain can focus on are the darker parts of his story that aren’t fun. At all.
I swear my brain just blanks once I open up something to type stories in.

ChrisP here. leveled a horde demon hunter to 60 and made them venthyr along the way. Probably will barely play them, but, oh well. It was fun. The journey, and all that. The actual stroll to the mountain, not the climbing the mountain and actually challenging myself and others. That’s terrifying and I rarely do that due to cowardice. (endgame mythics or raiding or pvp)
I now have 2 demon hunter 60s (venthyr and maldraxxus), a night fae priest, and a kyrian paladin. whee. more classes to come for me I am guessing.
