strange story, you wrote it fine though. pretty much as i would expect it to be, except that i don’t bother expecting things anymore. At one point while reading it felt like my mental voice left my body and went into my blanket which was peculiar. Did you intend supernatural effects on readers or am I just a freak or crazy or cursed? Probably cursed, by God perhaps, oh well.
Not really. My Fredricks Fancy series is just my more humorous story that was inspired by the Alice in Wonderland growing/shrinking scenes. And well I am a odd person that leans into my own insanity to work with what I love. These stories are my happy time away from my dark Dystopia’s and epic fantasy worlds where people are at war and tragic character connections.
It has a Twilight Zone feel to the story but with a lighter touch. More in depth, there is a nearly existential humor to it, sort of like The Rhinoceros by Eugène Ionesco, the absurdity of being normal in a fantastic situation because the mind won’t deal with what is going on.
Thank you. That is what I am trying to do with that series. Strange size changing things are happening but Sarah and most people just try and play things off like it is still every day life.
Elmer is just one step away from 100% character realization!
He’s got his cute butterfly backpack from Ardenweald, the purple parasol from the Revendreth wq, the wheelbarrow toy from the Revendreth wq, and the goo kitty toy from Maldraxxus.
All I need to do is farm enough Grateful Offerings on my DK to get the actual goo kitty battle pet from Maldraxxus and Elmer will be 100% Elmer-fied.
Kind of interesting to think about what exemplifies a character to 100%.
The best advice I can give on self-editing is to make sure all the major points line up i.e. if a character does or says something that reflects later in the story, make sure it lines up.
Leave the macro and micro editing to someone who isn’t as invested in the story as you because they will be able to see not only the entire forest as it were but also the branches on the individual trees.
