The second the position was thrust onto him, every other leader turned against him, with some of them threatening to kill him. Why would he want those idiots to stick around?

Garrosh took what he needed for his people to prosper because some hippy earth loving nerd shaman thought it would be smart to make their home in a desolate wasteland. Thrall is a burden upon the Horde and has no right being near it.
