Garrosh didn't care about the Horde

He cared more about himself and his own hatreds than anything else.

He cared about his perceived injustices that were wrought on him by Thrall and others. He cared about being better than other people. Being a racist meant that he hated the other races by comparison to himself, not that he cared about his own race necessarily. The Horde was an object that came into his possession that he then owned as just that, an object. And he used the Horde as the measuring stick by which he would compare himself against the world.

When he says “for the Horde” what he really means is something along the lines of “for my own superiority” or “for my own legacy.”

Maybe he did care about the Horde at some point, like back in Wrath or Cata, or in the now-officially-declared-as-non-canon story of honor in stonetalon that people like to reference. But in MoP and especially WoD he definitely only cared about himself.

I hate that they made him say “Whatever I did I don’t regret”. Basically a one dimensional saturday morning cartoon villain who blames Thrall for his own decisions.

They’re putting more effort into trying to make people like Sylvanas when they had the gold egg all along.

Just have Thrall and Garrosh have a heated moment while Garrosh thanks Thrall for helping his dad and says while he did everything for the Horde, he regrets going down a darker path and both of them part on good terms.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU BLIZZARD.

That’s why he screamed for the horde before he disenchanted himself from existence.

Garrosh is a hot head, he has shown that even during WotLK

Him going out in a bang is the right ending for his character

Him saying “yeah thrall you’re right” would never fly

Guess you didn’t play horde enough

Garrosh rage pooping himself out of existance is going to be on my top 5 moments from this expansion.

No way, that was great. Love him or hate him, Garrosh stuck to his guns and went out in a blaze of awesomeness. I loved when he mentioned, “…that coward Thrall”. Def the highlight of this terrible expansion. I only wish Garrosh actually got a decent cinematic.

Garrosh cared about the Horde, but wanted it to be an Orcish ethnostate. He did at least tolerate Goblins, though in the Tolkien-verse at least Orcs and Goblins are the same thing so perhaps that’s why.

Same lol. i’m not exactly the biggest Garrosh fan, but he went out with his pride in tact and i liked that.

Garrosh’s jaw during that cutscene sums up this expansion.

He didn’t care about the Horde.
He cared about the orcs.

Are are we forgetting Blood Elves existed in Cata/MoP?

Well, at least he did care at some point and at some degree.

Unlike Sylvannas lol

Yeah, maybe he did. And maybe she doesn’t, since we still don’t really even know what she’s on about. Her motivations and values have flip flopped so many times who knows anything about her for sure anymore.

Sounds a lot like the warcraft community in general, and yet, only Garrosh gets the hate.

Weird.

Someone clearly paid no attention then.
Hes the exact opposite of Sylvannas.
Thrall left the horde in a horrid situation and went on a hippy journey. The other leaders all expected Garrosh to solve everything, but wouldn’t work with him/openly rebelled.
He did turn to these dark powers and all because the horde WASNT being this ‘family’ they wanna sell as now.

He was an open racist and tyrant long before he turned towards the old gods.

I am rather disappointed that this is the last we will see of Garrosh Hellscream. He was a most engaging character and despite his flaws and actions, it is undeniable that his passion for the Horde was almost unrivaled. The most prominent problem being is that his vision of the Horde and what it entailed was rather exclusive and limited.

It’s the last we’ll see of our Garrosh. However, considering the story arc that Garrosh came from, apparently even a death after death possibly won’t be enough to keep someone out of the story forevermore.

What do you mean “in MoP”?

Garrosh was a mess from the moment he was introduced in Burning Crusade.

Has everybody forgotten how at the end of Burning Crusade he tried to kill Thrall and take over the Horde? Or how he treats us all when we get off the zeppelin in Borean Tundra? Or how he botched the Horde invasion of Twilight Highlands, because he’s the WORST military strategist in the history of the multiverse?

Somebody’s never played a Horde character. Or, at least, not paid much attention.

From the moment of his inauguration, let’s check in with everyone:
Vol’jin - Said on Day One that he was going to be the one to kill Garrosh some day.
Sylvanas - Openly dismissive and ignored everything he said.
Baine - Wanted to kill Garrosh but did nothing because he felt his people needed the Horde.
Lor’themar - No idea of his initial reaction in Cata, but he quickly grew to despise Garrosh after that.

Nobody ever expected anything of Garrosh. Everyone knew from the start that he was an incompetent buffoon with the mind of a child.
