If they’re Horde they’re up to no good. Of course I’ll interfere.
I play on a pvp realm but I don’t gank period.
The weirdest stuff happens during escorts. For some reason my escorts usually begin with a Horde complaining and 5 minutes later I mysteriously DC, every single time.
Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
An example. The escort quest in ungoro, not the ape, the guy that passes out. It’s a 30 minute timer. So 8-10 minutes in, right on que, I get Dcd. After shutting pc down and a brief maintenance, I am back in game 7-8 minutes later. I have to revive the guy but I am clear of the mountain and have about 14 minutes left to get to base. Easy done, but it took another 7-8 minutes from where I was. So it took me nearly 24 minutes to complete a 10-11 minute escort (tops). This means everyone else, including Horde, had to wait extra time to obtain escort. Wait! Was someone thinking a DC automatically fails a quest? That only works with the chicken.
Why gank when you can violate TOS and DC someone?
It’s more fun to chain sheep them as they helplessly watch their ward die.
Yes, but only if we’re near the same level. If I’m so much higher level than them that they have no chance to beat me then no because I don’t find that fun or funny, but rather kinda pathetic.
Yep. I did it all the time way back when. In a few more levels my rogue will be going back to Westfall to kill the defias traitor again.
same for me
its just the crybaby generation and also aton of sheeps who did follow their streamer gods on the wrong servers!
if u are a sheep, go play on pve server
if u are a crybaby, go play on retail Server
problem fixed, and NO, blizzard wont remove pvp server again for u because they learnd from their mistakes! they wont listen anymore to the casual crybaby community, its a proven very weak minded but loud minority that just made the majority of their costumers/fans quit their products
Don’t forget about the one dude in Barrens for Horde. It’s like 10 minutes to get to Ratchet.
See alliance jump-running to you and 1hit him just as you get past all the pirates.
Literal death irl
No, I usually help them. I have had it happened, but this orc shaman gave me a hand once and I’m paying it forward. When possible.
Without hesitation.
It wasn’t just private servers. There was an escort quest from a keep south of Ratchet back to there. You could sit up on the hill, wait for the escort to come by then take out the NPC.
Depends. Probably not, unless that player or others have been screwing with me a lot that day.
I think there was one in feralas that you have to escort all the way down the main road. Def had some issues with that one back in the day.
I’ve certainly hardened up over the last month in regards to faction reciprocation, but do you ever wonder if one moment at your volition causes someone actual rl grief? I feel like being “that guy” on an escort would be a qualifier. Mutual respect, even among enemies.
Because I can.
Especially if I know its an escort, in which I won’t even bother to kill you, just your NPC.
Yep. It’s happened to me so it’s happening to them.
I rolled on a PvP server because I know what it feels like to be ganked by higher levs, trounced on in 1v1 and absolutely eviscerated by groups.
Nothing in any game gets my heart pumping like some good old fashioned PvP.
I rolled on a PvP server and fully expect I’ll get ganked, beaten and jumped. Why would I be salty about it? If I wanted to play carebear I’d go PvE.
Some days I don’t feel like starting stuff and some days I do. Sometimes I’ll ignore PvP and go about my business and some days I’ll make it a point to hop on anything I see.
That’s the one beauty of a PvP server and folks who like them and would never roll anywhere else - we go in understanding that this stuff happens, expect it to happen and don’t whine about it when it does.
I’d be more mad if a guy running by with aggro manages to shake combat and the mobs bug out like they do all the time and catch the nearest player for no reason. THAT would make me mad. I’ve had groups of 8 or 9 mobs just run to me out of nowhere and start attacking - and they started when I was out of range enough to not even see them, the whole group just appeared several dozen yards away already running at me. THAT was some ish.
I don’t play on a pvp server so we have to use other methods to piss off the alliance. The other day I saw 2 alliance members doing the oox robot chicken escort quest in the hinterlands, so I jumped on mount and pulled 5 wolves and dragged it into the chicken. That combined with the 4 moonkins that come out we’re enough to kill the chicken and both alliance members. Was a lot of fun for me. Even had an alliance mage /cheer me on while I was screwing with them. He didn’t help them either. These are things we do against opposing factions because it’s part of that conflict that’s missing in retail. Screw this whole ideology where we should all hold hands and sing kumbaya together. We’re enemies act like it.
Instead of killing them, you could give them a Classic+ version of the escort quest. Sap them or sheep them. Then it’s a game of whether the escort walks too far from them (causing auto-fail) or the escort dies before sap/sheep wears off. I’ve heard people want Classic+, so I imagine it should be non-contentious and the player would /thank you afterwards for giving them a hard mode.
Yesterday I came upon a warrior struggling with the feralas escort, just managing to beat the final wave and bandaging up. Seconds from completion.
Not going to lie, I ravage one shot him. Felt bad afterward, until I remembered that every time I’ve been nice and spared someone, they’ve come back and attacked me afterward when they gained the numerical advantage. No mercy anymore.
