I don’t really have a proper setup and have just been using a regular chair I had in my house. But it’s taking it’s toll on my posture so I’m looking for a good gaming/desk chair
Does anyone have any recommendations? Not too concerned with the look as long as it’s comfy

Check out the Secret Labs line.
I picked one up because they came highly recommended by lots of people I play with. I don’t know of anyone with a Secret Labs chair who doesn’t love it.

I wouldn’t recommend any “Gaming” chair TBH. I’d go with anything that’s considered a office chair, they’re basically the same thing, without the gimmicks and likely with more features and support and usually not as overpriced for being a “Gaming” chair.
But of course its from experience after going through a few chairs within a few years each time. Always want something that does last after all.

Gaming chairs have 3 advantages over office chairs, IMHO:
- Broad, full seat back
- Removable armrests (I can’t imagine having armrests on my gaming chair)
- Bucket seat
Comfy comfy comfy.

I recommend trying out office chairs in a store that has a lot of choices. You can’t tell by looking at an online catalog how it’s going to feel after you adjust it.

Yep, if you get an “Executive” or big tall model they are usually oversized for most and just as big as gaming chairs if you enjoy that feature.
I find they are more affordable and last much longer than any gamer branded chair.
I’ve found that an office chair with a mesh seat and back to be the most comfortable and longest lasting. They’re also much cooler. Costco has one for $125. “Bayside Furnishings Metrex IV Mesh Office Chair” It’s what I’m sitting in right now.

I’m using a DXRacer. This one:

If I had to replace it I would buy the exact same one. The chair is very comfy but I think the most important thing with your chair is to have adjustable armrests.
You want the armrests to align exactly with your desk for proper comfort.

I have a DXRacer and am very happy with it. The adjustable lumbar cushion helps a lot. That’s one thing that office chairs rarely, if ever, come with. I had to buy a cushion for my office chair at work.
Some people find the right office chair that works for them. I tried office chairs but I couldn’t find one that was comfortable.
Either option is a huge upgrade over a regular chair. I was using a kitchen chair until I got the DXRacer.
It was painful I was getting back inflammation and it did not help. It hurt the back of my legs too because the edge of the seat was pretty sharp and there was basically no cushion.
I have a DXRacer too and am happy with it. Ive had it for probably 5 years. The armrests had a recall, but that’s the only trouble it’s given, apart from the PU leather trim, which has predictably flaked off. The term Pee Yoo does seem to be extremely apt.
There’s some pretty good Lazboy’s out there. I’d start there really. The racing chairs are 100% garbo. Definitely look at lazboy office chairs. They come in both fake leather and fabric…personally i’m a fabric kind of guy as split leather sucks…and your butt sweats more with leather. Do the math.

I bought a SecretLab US chair as well & I have had nothing but issues with it since the box arrived. My biggest regret was that as soon as i started unpacking that box finding broken pieces of arms & cuts in arm pads that I didn’t seal it back up & send it back. Ofcourse they sent replacement parts then within a few months the hydraulic that raises & lowers the height not only stopped working but the handle that activate that height adjustment will no longer lock in place & just falls off. I am so over this $500+ fiasco that its not even funny. Save your money…it didn’t last even a year for me & even my cats won’t sleep on it as the seat is not that comfortable or well padded for extended hard core gaming.

I have a Secretlab chair and it’s good but like what Murdercarpet said, I’d recommend getting an office chair over a gaming chair. I’ve been able to find used Herman Miller chairs on sale quite frequently so might be worth a look.

I have a fairly top of the line AKRacing chair that’s probably the most comfortable seat in my whole place, so definitely some gaming chairs are good, but lots are cheap and disappointing. Generally the brands you hear about the most will be reliable.
I’d recommend avoiding most ‘Gamer’ chairs unless you can test drive them first. Most are just the same chair with different branding and have no ergonomics.
I should note that Secretlab seems to be the exception from this rule. But I’d still highly suggest test driving the chair before you commit.

In the market for a new chair, myself. Still shopping, but I do like the reclining feature available on most gaming chairs, which doesn’t seem to be common on office chairs. Adding DXRacer and Secret Lab to my list of brands to check out.
