I had to break down and actually set up a home-office over the past couple weeks instead of using my gaming computer to do work things.
That said, while I normally don’t go for the celebrity endorsements I couldn’t find a chair that offered all the features I wanted(that wasn’t filled with lemon reviews) other than the Shaq series over at Office Depot.
Been using it a week and it is one of the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in, and the cat definitely believes it is worth the price:

When I’m not working the cat is in the chair. When I am working the cat is over in my sim-pit staring longingly at the chair.

Be sure to select a gaming chair with RGB Lighting.
…
No for real, get an ergomic office chair from a specialized shop. That’s what I did 2 years ago and I don’t regret it.
I’m working in IT from home so I sit at my computer … a lot. I’m 6’3" and have a few herniated discs as well. I feel like most chair are just too small. So I went to a small local shop and found the perfect fit for me.
Do it !

I would recommend an office chair over the gaming ones. Buy a nice big comfortable one and that will cover you for playing games and watching movies / youtube etc.

I’m not sure if you have a budget but if you’re looking for something ultra comfortable, check out office chairs by Steelcase. I swapped out my Secret Lab gaming chair for a Steelcase and it’s exceptionally better in every way.
That said, a lot of this is subjective. It’s like keyboards. I use a basic Leopold TKL with cherry MX speeds but others make fun of me for not going with a gaming brand like Corsair or Razer. To each their own.

Chairs are for sitting and being comfortable for long periods.
Get an ergonomic chair, not a gaming chair. You are playing WoW to PARSE not to impress 14 yr old kids on twitch.
Your seat height should easily let you rest your feet on the floor with knees bent at 90*. You arm rests should adjust so that your elbows can rest on them at 90*. Highly recommend a head rest and adjustable lumbar.
If you insist on spending gaming chair $$ on a chair though, Steelcase is very nice and like half the cost of Herman Miller (50% of very expensive is still expensive), but there are plenty of more affordable ergonomic brands.

I have a DXrazer gaming chair. I bought it years ago. It’s not as comfortable as it was new and the arm adjusters are broken. This chair is going to the landfill soon.
It has served me well until just recently.
Check Amazon. They have literally hundreds of chairs to look at. I am sure you will find something that will work.
Good luck.
this one (secret labs)
best money I ever spent on a chair for STYLE AND COMFORT
NOTE: if you buy red though imma have to hunt you down.
(was only ~400 when I preorder it I believe so it went up probably because of inflation.)

Those gaming themed chairs look pretty cool. Be nice if the office chairs came like that.
they have solid colors, so those could easily work in a office.
this is the best chair i ever had and i swear it’s even helped with some of my back issues. a good chair is very important if you sit all day (gamer/data analyst/web dev/IT/etc…)
so I SIT TO MUCH)
Legit look at office chairs over those hellmode “gamer” chairs, especially if you marathon anything.

most gamer chairs are crap pretending to be good, secret labs is a good brand with good materials. even if i wasn;t biased, it;s still my longest lasting chair to date, still looks new except black side arms slightly discolored and still slides/moves like it was out of the box, and i have had it for 2 years now i think?
believe it or not, i’ve been using an old la-z-boy recliner since hurricane ida. you can lie down and watch some tv while waiting on queues, lol… then pop back up when it finally dings. =]

I’m personally biased against SL chairs because the sole one I purchased, the height lever snapped on and it was a nightmare dealing with their customer service to try and get it replaced. Never again.

For about 6 months I went through chair after chair (ty bro, sons, & hubby for assembly, disassembly, and sending back.) Either my tush wasn’t happy or my back. The dedicated gaming chair made both worse.
I went from “comfy” padded office chairs to game chairs searching. A lot of people mentioned the Herman Miller Aeron - I got the Embody instead. A year later I haven’t regretted it at all.
At first I wondered how a chair with no seemingly cushion could be comfy for my fess, but wow, was I pleasantly surprised! Anything you want to adjust you can. Best damn chair I’ve ever owned & worth every penny. And hey, they gotta sale going I think.

Don’t buy anything marketed as a gamer chair. AVOID those racecar looking chairs too. I spent a lot of money on one and went back to my torn up office chair after only a couple weeks of using it. It was so uncomfortable. Go for a chair that’s marketed as an ergonomic office chair.

1> There is no such thing as a “gaming chair.” This submission to the marketing dorks of the world needs to stop! If you sit in a chair… ANY CHAIR… and play games, it’s a “gaming chair.”
Even more to that point, pretty much all of the gaming chairs I have ever seen look to be the most uncomfortable pieces of nonsense I could imagine. BUT THEY LOOK COOL!!1111 Be an edgelord! Buy a GAMING CHAIR!!11 Please stop.
2> Secret Lab looks to make GREAT chairs-- you know this because they’re EXPENSIVE. Your mum was right on this one: you get what you pay for.
3> I have some “executive chair” atm from an office warehouse type store and … it’s ok. It’s comfy, but it creaks and just… isn’t a quality product. I just hadn’t known of Secret Lab at the time. But my next chair will be from them.
4> If you go Secret Lab, they make WARCRAFT SPECIFIC CHAIRS!!! You can get either Horde or Alliance emblazoned chairs!!! I don’t have the link handy, maybe someone else can post it.
