We live in Canada. We purchased a Canadian game time card with Canadian Dollars (CAD) but for some reason, it only is useable in EUROPE where they don’t use $CAD. (Another continent, and another currency) It says 37.99CAD ON THE CARD. We bought many of these cards a long time ago, we do not have the receipt and we cannot return them. Some of them work, but some of them don’t!
If you sell a card for EUROPE WITHOUT PROPER DISCLOSURE in NORTH AMERICAN REGION for LOCAL CURRENCY then you need HONOR THE REGION YOU SOLD IT IN OR YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW.
It’s not the “Store’s fault” because these cards are IDENTICAL. You cannot blame the store for selling the same products together.
THERE IS NO WHERE IN EUROPE WHERE YOU CAN BUY A CARD FOR CANADIAN DOLLARS. THIS CARD IS A MISPRINT. BLIZZARDS FAULT 100%.

The care actually should show differences between US and EU. The big difference is US has ESRB ratings, while EU has PEGI
The problem, and forgive me much of what I know about Canadian rules I remember from a John Candy movie, is that products have to be offered in English and French, forgive me if I am wrong.
French is not a supported language in the US region, but it is in the EU, so EU cards are used to meet the requirements.
Blizzard has teams of lawyers that know the laws of the regions that they do business in. All of the physical boxing has to be approved by legal before it ships. If the store was selling cards from different regions and didn’t have them clearly separated that is the stores fault and not Blizzard’s.
Just to touch on this: Blizzard wasn’t the one whom told the store to stock the cards. Blizzard wasn’t the ones whom sold you the cards at the store. Blizzard isn’t the ones whom tell which store gets what. Just the request for X item in Y amount and they ship them. Albeit, the store could’ve gotten the stuff from an overseas store for a bit cheaper or whatever and was happy with it.
I get where the poster coming from I went to ebgames canadian version of gamestop and they had EU game time cards but they acknoledged that but they had the US version. As a game time purchaser you should alwasy inspect the product your buying to make sure its what u wanted.
Laws are made in the courtroom at the time of trial. The cards sold were IDENTICAL see here:

You want to bet who throws enough money at it who would win?
This is fraud. You deceived the store, causing the store to deceive the customer.
YOU BLIZZARD are in the wrong and bear full liability for mislabeling your products.
You committed fraud by selling a worthless product that could not be used next to one that could that both looked identical. And I am certain a jury would see it the same way.
You think Blizzard makes the laws. LOL you poor poor dude.
You do not sell an UNUSABLE product in Candian currency in the North American Region, and then claim we are supposed to know the difference when the product looks identical.
Can I buy European game cards in any PHYSICAL MALL in the USA with USD??? WHY NOT?
Why wouldn’t I expect the same standards to hold one country above?
You have double standards.
If you want to sell a European version FOR CANDIAN DOLLARS IN CANADA, then you better make sure it is CLEARLY LABLED AS SUCH.
I was merely pointing out that there are in fact two different types of cards shown in the picture. Not sure why it was necessary to swap your characters around to reply to me. Sticking with the original character making the post would suffice.
If you wish to provide feedback regarding the typeface used on the cards, you can do so by posting in General Discussion forum or through the in-game Feedback option.
I understand your frustration. However, this is Customer Support, not Service.
This is mostly an information desk where other players can help assist posters. Blizzard does monitor this Forum and post when they can, but they are not here all the time.
If you wish to contact Blizzard directly, that can only be done via a Ticket. However, since you did not purchase the item from Blizzard directly, I am not sure what they can offer you in ways of assistance in this matter.
As such, it is mostly a feedback issue with how you wish the cards to be more clearly distinguished between regions.
But a retailer has zero connection or influence from Blizzard. Blizzard make a product and offer it for sale. The retailer puts an order in and buys what they want. They then display it in their stores how they wish. Blizzard has nothing to do with that. Its not their fault your retailer didnt take the inititive to seperate the game time and Blizz is not responsible for you not reading the box and comfirming its the right region your wanting to buy game cards for.
Blizz really can’t do anything about this. They are not forcing retailers to order both, thats on the onus of the retailer.
I just held off on suggesting a ticket path because the support article states that any cards bought from an outside vendor must be taken up with them.
or you purchased your game time from a different vendor, you will need to reach out to the vendor for a refund and purchase additional game time for the correct account.
Those EU cards are sold to support their EU client, which is offered in Quebec as an option for Francophone. It is not offered in the USA as there is no requirement for Blizzard to offer a French product.
I’m sorry the region information was unclear; I’m not aware of what current cards look like, but additional clarity may be a good suggestion to forward to Blizzard if they’re equally unclear.
lol no… if the game card is French its an EU licence, if the gamecard is English its a US licence… that’s just how WoW is sold in Canadian retailers (its the same with the collectors editions, where most retailers especially out east stock both).
Whats more annoying imo is that the CAD isn’t supported (outside of game cards sold in retailers) in the EU region to buy gametime & expansions, even though there are many Canadians on EU servers for the French speaking Servers.
