Games boring

Already seeing boosting offers for slave pens runs in the lfg chat. Boosting will never go away and blizzard will not intervene.

Group content is still pull everything and aoe it down, while ignoring cc or refusing to do any group content without overgeared or over leveled aoe dps that trivializes the mechanics of the content into just aoeing everything down. This is retail gameplay and anything else is mocked, grab everything aoe it down is the only acceptable way to run dungeons to the serious playerbase. I’ve ran some groups where we can use cc and safely finish the dungeon efficiently but these groups are rare. More often cc is ignored because the group believes if the group isn’t capable of pulling multiple packs and aoeing it down, then the group shouldn’t be and disbands, even though we could cc or pull less and finish the dungeon anyway.

Feeling like loot treadmill immediately and the game just came out. I already am just straight up not interested in farming new gear in the next content release. What’s the point in getting excited or interested in your gear knowing it’ll be outdated in a couple months?

My sub ends in 4 days, I tried tbc, already falling asleep at keyboard. MMORPGs need something new and fresh badly.

Future phases are just going to get worse. GDKP runs galore, plus Paladins boosting folks who wanna skip the 58 thru 70 grind. Oh, and rep grinds too!

Kara, Gruul, ZA on farm…everyone and their grandmother riding a bear!

There’s still Arena and BGs.

PvP in this game is rock paper scissors, on top of being gear>skill.

Getting into pvp in wow is silly to me. It’s fun to engage in world pvp or the occasional battleground. But that’s all it is, a mini game.

If you want real pvp why not play a game designed for pvp? There’s tons of them and they’re just as popular as wow

So the game is boring because people play it differently than you do?

What other people do really shouldn’t effect you this much.

Yeah, I’m in the same spot. I really loved TBC the first time, but I’m struggling to capture that lightning in a bottle again.

I’ve witnessed more than one paladin in the 2 weeks of tbc claim they’re only excited about playing their paladin so they can boost other players.

It’s so weak man. Nobody can play the game without minmaxxing the fun out of it.

“I’m playing this class so I can charge other players gold to boost them thru dungeons while they’re afk.” Yeah that’s great.

I like the rock/paper/scissors design of the pvp tbh. The gear>skill part can be annoying… but it gives me incentive to get gear and get gud. There are expansions that I greatly prefer over this one for PvP (WOTLK, Cata, and MoP), but still I havent played PvP in game that is as exciting as this one.

Maybe you should try Rogue. It doesnt get any more fun than Rogue.

Yeah it’s crazy that what the majority of the community does affects me and my enjoyment of the game where we all share the same space and content. /S

Community is a huge part of the issue, blizzard is the other.

Its legitimately pretty fun to be able to pull an entire dungeon and tank it all while killing it with reflect damage and consecrate or finding a way to kite and kill it with blizzard/flamestrike. Whether you like boosting or not doesn’t change the fact that the boost itself is one of the most interesting forms of gameplay available in wow.

It’s the most fun for retail players because it gives their geared max level character a solo activity they can also charge others for gold.

It’s the most fun because it resembles a familiar playstyle from retail: pull everything and aoe it down.

I highly disagree with you. I like cc and using everyone’s abilities to complete content. I am not a retail player.

Being able to pull everything and solo it…belongs in a single player game. Why the hell can 1 player do what usually takes 5 players, in an mmo? Why does blizzard allow this? Solo all you want but you shouldn’t be able to change the landscape of leveling and grinding by being able to aoe everything down. It’s braindead stupid easy and requires zero cooperation from other players.

That playstyle was around in TBC. In the OG tbc on my very first character (Human Rogue  ) I vividy remember getting “boosted” through Deadmines by a Prot Paladin.

If you like the CC and strategize playstyle in dungeons, Cataclysm was just like that. Cata is what you want.

Old Blizzard would have broken this as soon as it became known. It’s mind-boggling to me that they are firm on certain things (not swapping quest rewards) yet allow behavior like this to continue.

Can’t wait for my boosted pally to eventually get to 70 so I can boost people for gold

Can I have your stuff?

You think you’re trolling me but I don’t care. I’m gone in 4 days. Games dead in a month. Won’t have anyone to buy your boost.

Not true. I was boosted through several dungeons in OG TBC and so were my friends who played with me back then.

The expansion litterally just started lol, vanilla was out for over a year and still had people leveling in silverpine forest when the dark portal opened.

I was even giving gold for tanking dungeons, I felt like a panhandler taking the gold but that’s how community rolls now.

There’s a difference between being ran through low level dungeons by a buddy, or Paladins that were AOE farming Strat, and sitting AFK while a mage pulls the whole dungeon and AOEs everything down by using terrain exploits. The latter most definitely was not a thing in Vanilla or TBC.
