10minutemail is a nice website for that <3
^^ This ^^
I personally think that isn’t the best comparison, there is too much of a difference between a long running mmo and a single movie in a franchise. You still have access to the full game along with the newest content. By that standard some of the other mmo’s on that list(which people in this thread stated they voted for) shouldn’t even be in the running. For example Swtor hasn’t released a new expac since 2016, most of the devs are on hiatus from it currently while working on another project.
However, I will reason using that perspective for you no problem. If this is an award for stuff played in 2018 only, then BFA has at this point only been the current content for three months, the rest of the time was occupied by legion content which as you pointed out was an iteration of WoW that you personally believed deserved the award. By that logic the year that BFA will truly be represented for this annual reward is 2019 not 2018.
Some people are voting for mmo’s they don’t even play or like in 2018 simply because they want to watch WoW fail, not because the other mmo is actually a stronger contender.
Yeah I agree some of the MMOs shouldnt be on there if they havent released new content in 2018. I personally am not going to vote because I do believe this award is for BFA, and I do not think BFA deserves an award. Am I going to vote for the others because? No I dont play them. If people think BFA deserves an award I encourage them to vote for it. I am personally just not in that boat.
Truthfully I can’t find myself wanting to vote for WoW. There have been too many issues over the last few years with Blizzard for this to even be a deserved reward. Go back several years to Wrath or Cata and I’d say “yes”, but WoD onward has been a mess.
Even Legion had too much bad to counter what was actually good and it took far too long for fixes to happen. We’re going through the same situation right now in BFA with Azerite and their traits. With the slight obtaining fix happening in 8.1 that doesn’t fix the drastic difference in tuning of traits right now that several specs are having issues with. I know it’s impossible for tuning to be perfect, but there’s no reason that, for example, Arcane Mage should have 4 of their 5 spec specific traits 2 1/2x-5x worse than the 5th spec specific trait.
Azerite is by far the worse system ever put into the game, it’s even worse than Legiondaries. Instead of fixing the system to at least be something players can tolerate for the next 2 years you’re doubling down with “the players testing our system are wrong”. The ideal situation that I’m sure the majority of the playerbase would agree with is to just remove Azerite entirely, especially with how it feels like Blizzard put less development time(attention) into the system than most people wiping their butts to remain clean.
This game is always based around its current expansion. Cant say wow is amazing just look at wrath when its almost 10 years ago. It doesn’t matter how good it was yesterday all that matters is what it is today and what it will be tomorrow.
I voted for ESO its the better game atm. I raid log these days thats about it for wow 6-7 hours a week doesn’t warrant amazing imo. Raiding is always something Blizzard has done better than its competition (not that it has much left these days in terms of True MMORPG’S) but everything else is a chore and when i do log in on non raid night i start to ask myself why? Never had this issue in all 10 years playing.
Sure. But pretending things are fine. Yeah that is a no go. You don’t pee on my leg and call it rain.
Shooting the carrier is rather effective at making a point especially since they know what they are delivering is not adequate. On top of pretending the people unhappy with it are loons.
Civility has a cap. The pretending everything is fine while knowing its not and the over all insulting attitude towards complaints has been seen rather loud and clear.
So no these messengers blew through their cap awhile ago.
Stats point to money as the reason usually. Which is a given seeing as its a business contract.
haavi been a fairly staunch defender of blizz in this thread. Be it due to naivety or what…who knows. I already let loose How I feel about the yth having the gall to ask us to vote for WoW (they posted the link here, they want a vote). All the blues have to be working OT to get the trust back up.
Does this include Lore ?
In any case, trust in most cases is automatically given. When it is broken it is very hard to ever get it back entirely, in some cases impossible. I would think they would be better off not even trying.
This thread makin’ me lol
It hasn’t worked for them so far.
Okay first off. Look at Blizzards Blizzcon. Look what happened after it and how lackluster it’s been. Now look at FF14 and Square Enix’s Fan Festival, they had fans cheering and screaming. It was that good. Matsuda, the current president/ceo of Square came out on stage dressed as a Blue Mage (basically came out looking like an anime pimp) to do a comedy sketch.
When’s the last time the Blizzard or acti/blizz ceo did that? My point is, look at how loved Yoshi P (the current lead dev for FF14) and his crew are, they listen to fans, interact with them and genuinely seem to care. You know what I see when Blizz does those live q&a? Lifeless, soulless, robots just spouting out information. No emotion on their face, no care, nothing. So tell me why should I vote for WoW?
All this love for FFXIV and I couldn’t even get started. That game requires an excessive amount of patience for its excruciatingly slow start. My god.
With the problems wow and Blizz itself is having atm, it’s undeserving of a reward. So no, I won’t waste my time making an account to vote, would love to if things get changed within both the game AND the company.
Encouraged so that they can ignore it. There were literally thousands of posts that had constructive criticism from players that were ignored during the beta for BfA. Yet, here we are with an incomplete expac and broken/gutted/clunky/under performing classes and content that(imo) is not all that engaging, and a story that seems to have been written by a 10 year old.
Not to mention tradeskills that have been deleted, gutted and made useless. Only tailors can make bandages? Seriously, what use are scribes now? Actually, what use is any tradeskill for the long term? The answer of course is not much use at all.
Now lets talk about gameplay. My main, a fury warrior, is in a pretty good place, as fury anyway. Haven’t had the ambition to give arms a thorough run through, but I have put prot through it’s paces. Prot warriors got hit hard by the GCD changes, making an already slow and somewhat clunky spec even worse. I tanked several instances in BfA as prot and will not be doing so again, unless Hell freezes over or the GCD changes are seriously changed/reverted.
Look folks, WoW has been my favorite indoor hobby for years because it was fun and engaging, it no longer is and IMO BfA is a worse expac than WoD.
IMO, WoW may be the best MMORPG in the market, it does not deserve an award of any kind for BfA unless it’s for art, and since no other MMORPG comes close, I must abstain from voting(as mentioned in my previous post) on principle. So, WoW and ActiBlizz do not currently deserve my vote, or my money truth be told, but no other game deserves my vote either.
Semper Fi!
yeah sorry i’m passionate about wow but I think the award winning days are behind it. Too many changes to things that everybody liked the way they were.
Bribe me with flying in 8.1. Otherwise, hell no.
lmao gamer’s choice?!?!
hahaha
best option out of one…congratulations
2018 is a sad year for mmos and games in general
lmaoooooo id rather vote WoD than this pos that is BfA
Posting a link and saying vote for your favorite games is not asking you to vote for this game specifically. I don’t know how you can’t understand that.
