Does anyone knows how to fix it? Thanks!

Hello Søttø!

Sorry to hear you’re having issues launching WoW… I have a couple things in mind it might be (you may be in need of a Windows Update, or you may need to adjust DirectX settings), but if you can post a system report, that should make it clearer.

Obtaining System Files

You can include the DXDIAG in a reply to the forum post. Place it between rows of ticks (`) for formatting:

```
Like this.
```

This helped me somehow.

  1. Open the Battle.net app and go to Settings
  2. Click Game Settings
  3. Check Additional command line arguments for World of Warcraft
  4. Type in -d3d11
  5. Click Okay and launch the client

Finally the game opened and i can play.

thanks, you saved me !

You saved me to! Thanks!

This needs to be bumped and probably stickied for everyone. Spent 2 days messing up my computer to try and fix this only to have the solution be this simple. Thanks Sotto

This needs to be stickied, it worked for me as well, although I got addons outdated and game might not work message on character select screen. Which is weird because I just updated them.

Anyhow, I’m curious, what does this command line do?

You have just made me a very happy person!! How did you figure this out?!

I would like to say that this worked for me, but alas it has not.

I have been told:

We are seeing reports of players experiencing crashing and performance issues on older GPU’s, such as yours, since patch 8.1.

You currently have a Core™ i5-650 Processor, which is under the minimum system requirements for World of Warcraft: https://us.battle.net/support/article/76459

This has a 8 year old integrated intel graphics processor in it. They no longer make drivers for this graphics processor and it is not supported for Windows 10.

We are seeing other customers with the same Graphics Processor running into the same issue when launching World of Warcraft.

We are currently investigating this, and will provide updates on the forums if we have any: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/support/technical-support

It is likely that your system will no longer play the game, but we will see if there is anything that can be done for the older unsupported cards, just to be sure.

One desktop and two laptops, but none to run WoW (until that update). – colour me very sad.

Sets it to use directx 11.

You could also get a new, low cost video card. Maybe a radeon 560 or geforce 1050.
