Game unplayable for someone with one hand

Thanks to Dragonriding, I now feel that I cannot play this game.

I can’t even get through the first dragonriding quest because I have one usable hand to do everything with. Moving, casting, etc. So when you have something that relies on you being able to use your mouse AND press buttons at the same, it leaves players like myself out.

Before anyone suggests an MMO mouse with side buttons, I’ve tried several varieties, even ones marketed to small hands, and none are small enough to fit well with mine.

I feel like I’m stuck. I’ve been trying this quest for over an hour and can’t even get through the first ring.

not sounding like an as5 but cant you just buy a mouse with buttons on the side ?

Does your mouse have additional buttons? Like, on the sides.

I thought everyone already used one??

There’s some strange people out there indeed if they still using those basic, “dinosaur” 2-button mouses in the year 2022 :joy:

I already answered that question. I have tried several and they’re all too big for my 8 year old sized hands (I have both, but one is curled up with cerebral palsy.)

I used to use a super tiny mouse that had I think 2 extra buttons on the side. Obviously it’s not 9-12 buttons, but with modifiers it covered most of my needs.

I’ve been playing with no hands for years. I just roll my face across the keyboard.

curious would prostethics help with only having one hand?

Have you considered a product like this?

They make a few variety, I’m sure you can find a left hand or right hand version. Depending on what suits your needs.

I technically have both. I have cerebral palsy affecting one of them. The only thing I can use on my left hand is the heel of it. Which is ok to press a space bar but not so much individual buttons.

So how do you move AND use abilities at the same time, like having to move out of avoidable AoE as a melee dps?

Usually I use num pad for spells + arrow keys to move and heel for space. But dragonriding requires you to point your mouse cursor up or down and be able to steer with it while needing to press keys for speed boosts and stuff.

And honestly I don’t get out of AoE damage more than 50% of the time without getting hit at least twice.

Well I know spacebar does activate one of the 2 abilities you have while in the air with dragonriding, I can see the other being an issue for you though.

If your numpad is like mine, maybe keybind the 0 key? It’s bigger than the others.

Unfortunately that still requires taking my hand off the mouse, which I have to use to steer.

What about your left hand? I meant the same way you use spacebar.

Long shot but maybe you can find a joystick that would work as long as you can pull a trigger and tap one or 2 buttons shouldnt be to hard to set up one like a mouse.

I mean you’re just gonna have to get used to an MMO mouse my man.

There’s already alot in this game that requires you to move while pushing buttons I don’t really understand how this is any different.

My fingers are curled tight on that hand. It’s the one with cerebral palsy. They are unusable.

The heel of your left hand, the same way you press spacebar.

There’s a peripheral called a stinky board that lets you bind maybe 4+ different things to various foot movements, maybe that could help?
