Game is offically dying now: (at least PVP)

Oh. Yeah imo PVP has been dead for a long time.

I can’t speak for everyone but if I could just queue for a random BG and get equal rewards as the ranked pvp does now I’d probably be way more intrigued.

As it stands, I kind of hate Arena and Rated BG’s seem like a huge hassle to coordinate just the formation of the group let alone the act of doing it.

Also Vers aka Resilience has always seemed like a trash thing to require in pvp. If you want players to take less damage in pvp, just program to have players take less damage.

Ah yes. Let us all be forced to do things in a game that we don’t enjoy but are playing for . . . enjoyment.

They have done forced pvp and other forced things before and it is terrible every time.

Reread what I said. You already generally have to kill mythic bosses of the current tier if you want to min/max. Most people obviously aren’t able to do this, but you can kill heroic bosses to get close to min/max. Similarly, not everyone can get glad, but getting rival is fairly easy and provides an alternative gearing path while also boosting pvp engagement. No one is forcing you to raid or pvp, it’s simply a gearing path that can and should offer rewards for participating in it.

I hope you’re right OP cause I just sold all my stuff and deleted all my toons…

Yes, no one is forcing you to do any of the gear paths. You can choose whichever that you like to do in order to gear up. Forcing people to participate in ones that they don’t want in order to min/max is 100% a completely terrible idea.

If you want to force people to do that, also force them to do incredibly rough rep grind dailies as well for BiS gear. Are you going to advocate for that as well? Probably not.

Saw the Patch Notes today…
For the PVP crowd, another hunter buff?
For those that BG can tell you, Hunters are everywhere in BGs already…

As for the other buffs and nerfs, it all seems very… Ignored.

PVP is falling off of World of Warcraft. PVP will soon be searching and entering the Shadowlands.

There is only the elite pvpers, RMT pvpers, and few loyal long-time casual pvp players now.

They’re definitely not passing on skills or knowledge to new players or returning players. Some of them were born into the corrupted system of exploiting and have lived long enough to believe it’s the only way to live and survive. Eventually, some of them will go into retirement soon when they end up playing up against themselves mentally, wondering where everyone went. Right now, they just want players to get off their battleground lawn.

Speaking of exploiting…
I saw a Druid yesterday on Twin Peaks, climb up the mountains on the right side (from alliance) and no one could get him. He sat there with the flag, running back and forth on the background mountains, until someone killed our FC and just waited until we all died and capped.

Never seen that before.

as a pvper i went to seasons of discovery. PvP has never been as bad in retail as it is now (nothing to do with solo shuffle). PvP needs a complete rework and i would like to see something on a similar scale of FF14 where the spells and abilities can change and be altered or how even a class changes completely once in a pvp instance. That way balancing the classes and making each class unique while bringing something in would make pvp so much more fun.

Don’t freak out guys its never gonna happen, its just a nice thought to toss into the empty void.

And the amount of reporting, and/or threats of reporting a team player has gotten out of hand in randoms…

I hear ya…
I also would love more actually fighting in the game… No, I don’t mean eliminate all CC, but the slows are waaaay too much. I always feel like I’m playing on an old Dell with how constantly I am slowed…

How good would it to be if those where reduced by 50% and the battles where quicker, more fluid?

It’s not. SL S1 proved that. It’s not a forced gearing path, merely an additional gearing path. This gearing path simultaneously boosts the pvp engagement which benefits the game as a whole while also providing an additional gearing path for pve players.

This has been the case for a long, LONG, time. It’s like 75% of the reason MMORPG PvP (and to some extent MOBA) is unplayable garbage. The skill revolves around not allowing your enemies to play, which is awful, and every single game in these genres slowly introduces more and more options for CC, making it worse over time.

they did that back in mop for the legendary quest line. the entire playerbase hated it. the pve players hated having to pvp and the pvp players hated having pvp geared people ruin the bgs for them. forcing any aspect on people will always end with both sides hating it

This 1000%.
I see it like this… Over the years, instead of removing over done CC, they didn’t want to take it from people. SO they decided to give everyone multiple ways of getting out of it. Then they added more CC… And more ways out…

This has left PVP feeling “old” and “laggy” because you are always either stunned, feared or rooted, or slowed to a crawl 90% of the fight. It feels like playing the game with a 1995 Dell PC.

Need more posts like this or nothing will get done. Although there’s a chance nothing will get done anyway. I took the time to organize many of these issues into a Megathread plea for aid. Figured if I like Pvap and want to see it survive I have to do my part.

Here’s the link to my post, I managed to get Cyrios on the Community Council to make a PvP post titled "The State of PvP’ where he linked my post and has gotten a tiny bit of traction from a few other CC Members. My hope is we’ll be able to keep posts like mine and yours alive long enough to get some long needed change. If you’re reading this and you get a chance please consider swinging by my post and help keep the conversation going, even if PvP isn’t your thing, the game is still a richer place with it as a part.

Likewise I’ll be dropping by here now and again to try to keep this post alive.

Wow you PvPers just for a limited events so I say PvP is more than fine

If you’re playing WOW for PVP you’re doing it wrong.

Well, that’s like, your opinion man.

Though I can’t deny, PVP needs a lot of work. A lot of the issues OP mentioned are correct, but it is what it is.

“OH NO! Anyway”
