My daughter has been a player of WoW for years and now has gone off to the military. She has pre-purchased Shadowlands expansion online and has also purchased a brand new laptop. She would like to install WoW on her new laptop but her current internet connection is very slow and the game download will take forever. She would like to get back to playing WoW as soon as possible on her off time.
I could not find a link or any information about requesting a game installation disc. Is there any way for her to obtain the actual game installation disc so that her installation is speedy?
Thank for any information.
You could copy a current WoW installation onto an optical disc and send it. But you’d want to be sure that the new laptop has an optical drive – they’re less and less common.
EDIT: A memory stick is a much better idea. I’m showing my age!

Wouldn’t that violate Blizzard’s TOA?
Nope! The game files are free, so you’re welcome to copy the game from one computer to another.
I don’t believe that they’re using CDs anymore due to the size of the game.

Okay, I was hoping there would be a better option than buying a portable HHD and copying the game files. Then there is the matter of sending the HHD through the U.S. Postal service and it getting there in a timely fashion without paying the unnecessary money.
Thanks all for the replies!
It’ll all fit on a 128gb flash drive.

It doesn’t have to be an external hard drive. You could definitely use a USB stick with 128GB of storage. That should cover the whole installation directory. Then it’s just a small, light thumb drive instead

Or an SD card. Either way, it could be sent in a padded mailer for less than $5.
