Its RNG.You can get it from a loss as well.
no i dont think they were supposed to drop because pve gear cant get upgraded for a couple weeks, was a bug. RIP to those of us who didnt make their weapon…
Much higher drop chance from blitz it seems.
Are people who haven’t done voidforge quests getting drops? assume so since most people here don’t seem to do things like that but worth checking.
this makes me wonder if mmr is a factor since blitz 3500 = shuff 1600 = 3s 1200 mmr and if you queue a bunch of blitz, all the wins are wins at way higher mmr

Just played a bunch of 3s with my Hpriest buddy. He got 4 and I got 1. Pretty salty about it.
I dont think arena is a worthwhile source of it. Queue blitz, it drops often. I’m getting them like every other blitz win or lose.
Though I think its an oversight that these aren’t capped. The fact you can just farm out full 298 but its also rng is wild, we didn’t even have full 289 gear yet lol.
The fact that every piece of gear says “increases item level to a minimum of 289” has me worried we’re going to have to farm RNG currently to upgrade all our gear and it just makes me depressed considering we aren’t even full 289 yet XD.
I just want to be done with gearing and play a functional game.

Well yeah that is the case. We do have to farm rng currency to upgrade our gear atm. I mean you still need to buy the actual conquest pieces first (or craft conquest pieces), it can only go from 289 to 298, can’t upgrade honor gear or crafted honor gear. But we will be farming rng currency to go from all 289 to 298.
I dont actually mind it at all, I just dont like the fact its so rng and came so soon in the season. this would be perfect for like 12.0.7 when we would have been fully geared for a few months. We also got no explanation for how the Voidsliver works or that it was even going to be a thing going into this patch. PvE upgrade wasn’t available, everyone assumed the pvp version wouldn’t be either but obviously thats not the case.

I thought the ilvl increase is only intended to work on weapons and trinkets, including the pve ilvl increase?

nope. When I click on 5 and it makes the item, it allows me to upgrade any of my conquest pieces. Or maybe its just a visual bug I’m not sure, but when I clicked on it to use it, my chest/shoulders/gloves showed like they could be upgraded whereas my non conq pieces were blacked out.
Safe to assume, given the item text, That’s a bug (if it will even let you fully go through with it).
Yeah I didn’t test if it would actually let me since I still had my offhand wep to upgrade but it could be a visual bug for sure. I’m trying to get more but haven’t gotten any after 10 so far.
Edit: I did get more after 10, at 11 now so it doesn’t seem to have a cap. But if it can only be used on weps/trinkets its not a huge deal anyway, not too horrible.
I haven’t gotten the quest done at all, but got a drop from winning a BGBlitz.
Anyone let me know if you get any to drop from unrated, looks like the best source is prob still blitz though fastest would be 2s but who knows.
