This is very degenerate but I now have the axe. What have I sacrificed to get it? Running on multiple characters each week and then renaming the one that got it to Elk and my existing Elk to something else. (Did the latter first).

Bro, the drop rate from lfr is virtually zero percent. Also wild that they made it be 40 weeks to for sure get it…that’s almost an entire year of doing it every week.

The greater blp tokens from higher difficulties apply to that difficulty and any others you have not done that week. As the lower difficulties roll if you do a higher one first. However it does not work in the opposite direction.
So someone going into LFR with 10 greater heroic blp tokens will have the same chance as someone who only has 10 greater LFR blp tokens. As only the LFR roll gets… well rolled. The increased chances the first person has for normal and heroic does not apply here. It is why it is better to just do the highest difficulty you can do first each week.
Inversely, if I have 17 LFR BLP coins and I do Heroic, do I have the heroic equivalent chance?
It is pretty nuts, though I imagine by the time TWW comes it’ll be easier to run, albeit for transmog at that point.
I got mine three weeks ago, solely from LFR. So hang in there, it is possible!! I had to spend 35k on a customized embellished weapon with an R3 sophic chant before mine dropped though, so there is that.

Dropped for me yesterday (4/2) so 18th week for me. Just started doing the shadowfrost shard farming for shadowmourne now this should have started awhile ago maybe gotten it sooner lol!
I’m passed 20 and still nothing but embers.
Damn, I came to this thread to see if I’m the only one that thinks those quests sucks, but I realized I got REALLY lucky with this drop lol
Edit: I got this with 2 heroic kills, 2 normal kills and 1 LFR
16 heroic kills and nothing yet.
