Fw nerfed too much, didn't account for future hard nerf to its pvp talent Zen Spheres

  • New PvP Talent: Zen Spheres – Place a sphere of Hope or Despair on a friendly or enemy target. Only one sphere of each type can be active at a time:
    • Sphere of Hope – Friendly target receives 15% additional healing from the Monk.

    • Sphere of Despair – Enemy target deals 10% less damage to the Monk, and suffers 10% additional damage from all sources.

  • Mistweaver
    • Developers’ notes: Mistweavers have received significant Quality of Life changes throughout the last few patches that have increased their effectiveness in PvP to a point where we see them as oppressive to the viability of other specializations. We’re reducing many of the PvP multipliers associated with Ancient Teachings and their damage throughput, and we’re increasing the effectiveness of Renewing Mist to encourage Healing over Time management and reducing Vivify’s healing to keep their casting throughput relatively similar.

    • Ancient Teachings’ effectiveness is now increased by 120% in PvP Combat (was 150%).

    • Blackout Kick no longer deals 25% increased damage for Mistweaver Monks in PvP Combat.

    • Blackout Kicks from Teachings of the Monastery now deal 15% reduced damage for Mistweaver Monks in PvP Combat.

    • Tiger Palm now deals 15% increased damage for Mistweaver Monks in PvP Combat (was 30%).

    • Rising Sun Kick’s damage reduced by 20% for Mistweaver Monks in PvP Combat.

    • Vivify’s primary healing now reduced by 10% for Mistweaver Monks in PvP Combat.

    • Renewing Mist’s healing increased by 40% in PvP Combat (was 25%).

  • Mistweaver
    • Developers’ notes: We are specifically targeting Blackout Kick’s AoE damage potential as we feel Mistweaver’s healing becomes overwhelming when it can cleave its damage. We also feel Mistweaver’s mana regeneration has been too powerful, so we are adjusting Spirit of the Crane heavily.

    • Rising Sun Kick no longer deals increased damage in PvP (was 12.5%).

    • Blackout Kick copies from Teachings of the Monastery no longer deal increased damage in PvP (was 15%).

    • Spirit of the Crane now restores 0.18% mana in PvP Combat (was 0.45%).

  • fw is doing way more healing and dmg mainly because of new 10.1 pvp talent Zen Spheres that should’ve been removed or hard nerfed instead
    • +10% dmg orb and +15% healing orb, 2 amplifiers affecting fw by A LOT; don’t know why everyone is overlooking this insanely overpowered buff
  • problem is this pvp talent will eventually get hard nerfed (like ret’s hard nerfed pvp talent Luminescence that went from +6% to +2%) ON TOP of this current hard nerf to fw, which will do more nerfing than intended
  • fw/mw was actually nerfed in 10.1 because of longer cocoon cd
  • fw had nerfs in 10.0.7 but was only viable because of the short cocoon cd < 1m. now cocoon cd is > 1.2m

I still will never understand why they added that zen sphere honor talent.

fw should be irreparably and permanently gutted, absolutely disgusting spec that a blindfolded ape could play to r1

I dunno… I like it. Like I said before elsewhere, it feels nice being able to contribute something damage-wise as a castweaver. I might not be able to deal damage from 40 yards out, but at least the 10% increased damage debuff - paired with Mystic Touch - can sort of make up for that. :dracthyr_shrug:

Then do it, ape

Zen spheres get instantly dispelled in arena above 2400, kind of a wasted global imo. I dropped it and took the faeline talent and now have pretty much 100% uptime on boosted dmg

It has no cost with no CD, if a healer is cleansing it off CD you win the mana game 100% of the time. The talent is set in forget this season whether you are a caster or fw.

Eh, I found damage and healing is better using the globals for dmg and having the additional uptime on faeline buff.

If you haven’t noticed, people will die in the two globals it takes to put them up. And with how atotm works now, you don’t want to get behind.

Those nerfs to FW you aren’t going to be able to reliably do it against most comps, it’s a caster meta for sure. So you will have plenty of globals to put up spheres.

Healers have “plenty of globals”. Okay guy

Is this like a weird troll to try and avoid getting the best honor talent in the game from getting nerfed?

Oh it’s good no doubt. But play into a disc priest and it’s constantly purged and dispelled. And since most people RSS and disc is strong right now, you play against them more than half of the games. And again above 2400, it will get removed by anyone who can do it

I remember when I got my first duelist and 2400 and wore my title and talked about “above 2400” nonstop as it I had a good idea of what that was really like

can you break down how much the primary stat increase effected the damage abilities and how much those damage abilities then contribute to healing?

or u just sayin that?

this is completely wrong tho

fw right now is doing so much healing that half of it is overhealing

and even before right now fw was the best healer in the game in 10.0.7 post nerf
ret/war/fw and fw turbo were 2 of the best comps hands down
fws lost to literally nothing in shuffle outside of 4x single target spread wizard lobbies

I personally prefer just diving in for a touch of death, then proceeding to throw 4 different flags on their body and chops them up into meat. The latter part is the most imporant part to contributing to a game imo. =P

Can be instantly reapplied with no cd, so there’s only so much they can dispel, and then suddenly they no longer can dispel cc’s from their team mates.

This is why I personally don’t like the design of the spell. It just becomes an obnoxious nuisance that we have to keep track of and baby sit.

I’d never mention my rating like that… <.< >.>

Give damage back to Disc make disc great again buff rogues

Zen Spheres are funny. Blizzard used to just copy/homogenize class abilities, now they just straight up copy crap from their other properties. Which dev is so in love with Zenyatta he needed to give his WoW monk the same ability?
