I do get it, and STILL don’t care. As I said I rarely do BG’s. I have not even touched AB since it came out.
Most of this horde population are your traitorous friends from alliance who rolled Horde just for the racials.
Convince your buddies to come back to you, I could care less. I don’t BG and PvP in vanilla/classic is a joke.
Said up to 2 hours. The others bg’s are like up to 30 minutes or so? I can’t remember, I queued with my 60 tauren druid but left after I saw queue times. That was a long time ago.
Well, it’s not 18 hours a day, it’s more like 14-16 hours a day for 3-4 days a week. Even if you get unlucky and have to push a potential bracket breaker out, consider the mathematics.
Let’s be generous and say 16 hours a day for 4 days a week. 12 weeks to get rank 14.
16 * 4 * 12 = 768 hours to get your guaranteed BiS weapons. 13 weeks real time (extra week since you have to wait until next reset for your rank to update).
Now let’s say you wanted Chromatically Tempered Sword (next best thing to Rank 14 weapons). It’s unique, mind you, so you still need Maladath or Warblade of the Hakkari (off-hand).
Let’s be generous and say you clear BWL in 45 minutes. You probably do MC after, then Onyxia. We’ll say 2 hours to clear it all.
Let’s just say the chance the item goes to you is equal among all the people who want it. There’s 5 Rogues and 10 Warriors, including you. They all want CTS. 9.28% chance to drop. 1/15 chance is a 6.67% chance. So a 0.62% chance to get the item you want each week. That’s 161 runs to get it. 322 hours of raiding to get one weapon. Seems better than Rank 14, right?
161 weeks real time. Now, every person who gets it means one less person to compete with, so realistically it’s faster than that. Maybe 100 weeks. I don’t want to do all the math just to prove a point.
The likelihood is if you care about your played time efficiency, raid weapons are fine, but if you care about getting a weapon ASAP, it is better to spend the effort getting Rank 14 than waiting for a raid weapon drop.
It’ll work itself out.
People who went Horde for pvp seem to be pretty bitterly disappointed cuz… they can barely pvp.
Even in TBC, bg tokens are needed for arena gear, people are forgetting that.
Whilst Alliance have fewer than 3 minute queues for everything all the time. Even at Tuesday at 3 am, etc.

Why do alliance do BGs for pvp gear when they clearly dislike pvp?
If you aren’t, then you aren’t pushing anywhere close to 16 hours a day, at which point the played time investment is far lower. Even if you get to rank 10 before you get into a Rank 14 premade, you’re still statistically far more likely to get your Rank 14 weapons before you get a raid weapon.
I don’t play to look at a queue timer.

I’m rank 8 on my alt and I do 2 hours of AV every week. It’s not hard. But again…

As alliance, you can disregard the ranker group entirely.
Our queues are so fast you can just tell them to F off and do your own thing.
Who cares if you salt their game?
i mean but you are talking about a mindless amount of grinding and a honor war and it would be hard to win one solo
To be fair we willingly hold ourselves at SHGY farming horde for crystals while some noob clicks druids in a circle so they never leave to summon Ivus.
Granted, sometimes we push ONCE to IBGY, and fail, and then continue doing the above sentence and blame people for wasting rep farming time.
And sometimes we push twice and fail and get laughed at.
But sometimes, we push three times, and take IBGY, and 1/2 of these times we lose IBGY and go back to farming rep.
But sometimes, we push three times or four times and actually hold IBGY, and things get intense!
