A pedantic contrarian, who is probably proving my exact point by insisting there has to be a lore reason for what amounts to a “cool band shirt”.
My character can ride around on a daemon from Diablo, pull out a pet dressed in a suit of power armor (with gun) from StarCraft, and my favorite trinket back in vanilla was the Six Demon Bag from the movie Big Trouble in Little China. There is so much weird completely unaffiliated with lore stuff already in the game. At least a trasmog to look like Frostmorn would be something in setting.

Correct, because Blizzard has said that they add customization when it makes sense. Getting Frostmourne doesnt make sense so you arent getting it. Its gone, deal with it.

In all fairness, it doesn’t really make sense that we have Taeshalach, the Scythe of the Unmaker, and Seetheras, which are all colossal weapons wielded by titans. How would a Frostmourne replica be any more outlandish?

In all fairness, the majority of this game doesnt make sense. Do people really want to open that can of worms? Healers healing the undead doesnt make sense, 2h wielders should be slow and cumbersome which would be easily countered by just about everyone, gear should technically only be crafted as well as the weapons, hunters should have ammo, you should need a corpse / corpse dust to raise an undead, we shouldnt be able to even go up against the Titans even a young one, when we die we should be dead dead unless raised into undeath which means you lose everything you did.
Its all convenience though and giving a reason for people to want to get new gear.
And yes, getting Frostmourne is outlandish because its gone. If you want some wooden Frostmourne that you can swing around for 10 minutes from a toy then by all means be my guest. Not to mention people have argued to go back to the creator of it and have him create it again… yeah… makes sense… he would absolutely get right on top of that by recreating a weapon that played a part in everything that happened in the Shadowlands. Suuuure.

The lore and aesthetic of Frostmourne are deeply intertwined with the identity of Death Knights, similar to how other iconic weapons fit their respective classes.
Although Frostmourne was destroyed in the lore, there are ways it could be included in a way that fits the game’s RPG framework:
-
Frostmourne Shards: In “World of Warcraft: Legion,” Death Knights use the shards of Frostmourne to create their artifact weapons, the Blades of the Fallen Prince. This could be expanded upon by allowing a transmog option that resembles Frostmourne.
-
Alternate Realities or Timelines: Blizzard has used alternate realities and timelines in the past. An alternate version of Frostmourne could be justified through a storyline involving time travel or alternate dimensions.
-
Illusion Enchantments: There could be a special illusion enchantment that gives a weapon the appearance of Frostmourne. This way, the lore stays intact, but players still get to enjoy the aesthetic.
-
Echo of Frostmourne: A questline or storyline could involve recovering an “Echo” or “Shade” of Frostmourne, which can then be used as a transmog appearance. This echo could be a spectral or shadow version, maintaining the lore that the original was destroyed.
Incorporating Frostmourne into the transmog system while respecting the lore would not only satisfy many Death Knight players but also add an exciting and thematic option for their character customization.

The artifact weapons already resemble Frostmourne.
Already went through the alternate timeline thing. Can’t be done.
People don’t want illusion enchantments or even transmog options. Been hearing that argument since BFA against 2h a transmog option only l. These people want Frostmourne because they are bigoted towards DW. That’s all there is to it.
Frostmourne is gone, get over it already. It’s been well over a decade.

Man, you’re kind of a sore loser that doesn’t want people to just enjoy things. I hope you find happiness buddy

I’d take that with no issue at all.
Dh gets to have the warglaives as mogs, why not us with frostmourne?

I mean, they should remove Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire from transmogs as well, because that weapon was given away and is somewhere in space!

Don’t need any excuse at all. There’s so much stuff that shouldn’t exist in our gameplay if “”“lore”“” were strict rather then ‘here’s a cool/funny thing for players’, and the blade wouldn’t be a transmog for Diablo players either.

Not sure if it got brought up elsewhere in the thread (probably) but paladins literally get the original, pure Ashbringer long after blizzard themselves said “giving Ashbringer to players was a mistake”
They already gave us Frostmourne in the form of two swords, which the lich king himself helped you create. It’s really not that big a stretch to think that maybe the knights of the ebon blade, of which the four horsemen are using maw horses now BTW, have either adopted mourneblade crafting into their arsenal and could craft a Frostmourne look alike OR we could just go back into the shadowlands, like we already have after the expansion ended, and just ask the guy that made the original to make us something like it.
It’s honestly a crime that Diablo Immortal of all things got a Frostmourne cosmetic before death knights got anything remotely close, whilst every paladin named Sephirothxx has been running the 15 beautiful Ashbringer skins they’ve had since legion

Basically sums it up. Having Frostmourne or a Frostmourne replica on a higher pedestal than Ashbringer is weird and pointless. Wrath is essentially irrelevant to the story now, and they’re probably never even going to associate with it again after the disaster that was Shadowlands.

A sore loser? That would be you guys. Way to admit that you can’t enjoy what others have created unless you get your way.
Frostmourne is gone.
Only one of us here consistently shows up in every single thread for the sole purpose of putting others down and it isn’t me pal

Really? Could have fooled me with your literal insults. If you can’t handle the truth get off the internet.
Frostmourne is gone, has been since Wrath. DKs shouldn’t get it either. You already have access to a mourneblade.
How’s it been “gone since wrath” when we pick up the fragments of the shattered blade and forge them into two new swords lol
I’m pretty sure lore wise it was said the blades of the fallen prince were actually stronger than the original Frostmourne too
Also what mourneblade are you referring to?

It was destroyed. That’s how. What you are saying is that because you melt down some silverware and make something else that the spoon you melted down still exists. That’s not how anything works.
Frostmourne is gone. Has been ever since Tirion shattered it.
Shadowmourne. That’s the other Mourneblade. It’s been around for over a decade. Frostmourne is gone. Gone. You aren’t getting it.
Shadowmourne isn’t a mourneblade. It was created before they even knew what a mourneblade was and it’s just a normal runeblade. Also, the fact you’re saying an axe is the closest thing we have to Frostmourne just proves you can’t provide anything remotely close to Frostmourne in terms of transmog, of which there are none. That is why these threads exist
Shadowmourne is a Mourneblade.
No it is not. Mourne blades have been described (shadowlands) as having sentience of their own.
Shadowmourne does not have that. Jaithys is that. The only time something speaks through Shadowmourne is when the Lich King communicates with you while doing your quests to forge it.
Gloaming is right. Shadowmourne is just a runeblade that’s a bit more powerful than most others.
