You bring up the economy because you’re implying people can’t afford replicas of fantasy swords when they’re priced at almost $2000.
So my observation stands, this sword isn’t for those worried about the price of a gallon of Milk. If you’re concerned with “the state of the economy”, don’t be window shopping for sword replicas. It’s a luxury, unique, specialized item.
Well your opinion of my opinion doesn’t matter to me, so thanks. Blizzard is charging based off a perceived level of assumed appreciation and banking on a few super fans. The sword has proven to not appreciate in the past and it won’t this time… “A fool and his money…” Charging $1500.00 for a cheap copper/zinc/tin alloy sword from china is indeed an insult to smart consumers in “this economy”, so bugger off.
It’s kind of sad really. That pretty much they made it for those who are rich as heck while those who are middle class or poor can’t have such things like that now in days.
“This premium Frostmourne 1:1 scale replica is truly one-of-a-kind. The replica body is made by lost wax casting with engraving, milling finishing, and manual polishing. The materials used to create this premium replica are zinc-copper alloy, stainless steel, and leather.”
And also very important “Includes Certificate of Authenticity”
The product description for the much cheaper epicswords version:
The Frostmourne sword is an impressive piece with a length of 47 inches.
The replica is a two-handed sword that still can be wielded by a single hand thanks to its great balance.
The blade includes a set of decorative rules, as well as the recognizable jagged pattern of its lower edge.
The handguard of the WOW Frostmourne replica is a beautiful and intricately designed piece worthy of a stand-alone sculpture that was also electroplated.
The entire piece is handmade and features the use of stainless steel, as well as a real leather strip for its handle.
If nothing else, Blizz does a much better job of selling its product. And in my opinion, the official Blizzard version looks much better.
