So I'm probably not the best gauge on this as I'm pretty new to PvP (and WoW in general), but as a Frost Mage, I feel super gross. I only have this one character right now, so I guess I'm yet to try out the other in PvP to see how they are. I know I'm not good at PvP though.
I just feel like my slows are stupid. Like, I was in a rbg just before and I was keeping 4 people busy with slows while our flag carrier just ran right past. And most melee classes I can just slow and kite.
I don't know. I feel like we need a nerf or something. Let me know what you guys think.
The slows are strong but you can't pump amazing damage like fire for instance. It's control over damage or damage over control. Fire can delete people.

Yeah I guess that's true. Though glacial spike does a fair amount.

Glacial does less damage and you have to cast 5 frost bolts where as gpyro is spammable without set up and does more. Glacial is quite painful to run in rated.
This some kind of troll post? Frost always had those slows and roots. If you didn't have them you would get destroyed by mele. Frost has less burst than fire so you need them.
Also, frost has been nerfed on multiple occasions. And fire is likely to get it's buff reverted due to the outcry of the specs burst.
Play some arenas and than let us know if you still feel it's OP.

We have one big burst, then we turn around, bend over and ask the rogues to be gentle.

Frost is the control spec for mages, so yes it is phenomenal at controlling your opponents.
As a trade-off it does nowhere near the damage of fire or arcane. Sure kiting melee is a joke and you can slow an entire enemy team in perpetuity, but you won't be killing anything outside of the orb>comet storm>ice nova combo. And even frost's peak burst combo isn't as scary as a fire mage popping combust then dropping a meteor and pyros on you or an arcane mage chunking your health down with fully charged up blasts during arcane power.

Yeah... glacial spike is garbage against anyone who isn't a potato, you really should spec out of that for PvP. It takes 5 frostbolts to build up, or 10 seconds of free casting, plus the 3 second cast of glacial and then it doesn't even hit hard enough to be worth all that buildup. No one with a brain will let you get one off against them, and even in an ideal scenario where you can sit in the back of a team fight and freecast it just doesn't hit hard enough to be worth 13 sec of casting and giving up your standard icicles, in that scenario you'd be better off speccing fire and sitting in the back spamming Gpyros. Frost simply isn't the "kill sh!t" spec, the other specs (fire especially) absolutely shred people, frost is all about controlling the fight while your teammates kill them.
