This is how seriously bad the devs botched casters this phase. A literal pvp spec with no PvE usage outside of molten core IS BETTER than boomkin, shadow priest, ele shaman, warlock, and even fire mage.
Absolute scuffed phase. Balance is the worst one yet.

Good thing they nerfed PvE encounters so heavily that dps is irrelevant. Bosses die anyway.
Frost Mage was better DPS than all of these classes in Classic. Outdpsing Locks on most bosses in Naxx 40.
You spend more time clearing trash in Sunken Temple than actually fighting the bosses.
The protectory of any class is all over the place in the open beta.
Don’t put all your eggs into one basket because negligent changes can handicap any class the devs set their sights on.
The trash is a lil heavy in there but nothing too egregious. It won’t be unreasonable for a majority of the guilds that are 8/8 to start clearing the place sub 1 hr with trash clears for seeds this week and/or next dmf.
The devs will get around to that at some point, they got a lot of doing nothing on their hands

Fun fact frost and fire are using the same spells and talents. If it parses you frost or fire is based almost entirely on what spells you cast other than frostfire bolt.
This brings up an interesting question. If Frost finally good? Or is everything else just bad?

Okay, whats your point? Its obviously not a real PvE spec. If fire was able to be used in MC and BWL (which it will in SoD) it should out perform frost, esp as we move towards 40 mans with more ignites.
Frost is decent and the other casters are absolutely awful. They did a terrible job with SP balancing this phase. World buffs, consumes, and enchants are 95% tailored for melee. Casters got so screwed… Doing 1/3rd their damage and our best caster is a PvP spec… That would be like the best Melee being Sub rogue… OOOOOOOOOOOOF
First it’s that Frost and Arcane are the worst dps, this game is poorly designed.
Now it’s poorly designed because Frost is the BEST dps.

Fun fact, that is not true. (At least I am 99% sure. Wouldn’t bet my life on it) Frost is based on the winters chill build and fire is the “scorch” build. But the gameplay is the same outside a few frost people using deepfreeze/fingers of frost. But its still Smash frostfire bolt for ignite crit procs.
Its kinda what I talked about in previous of these posts how do you define frost. If its using anything with frostbolt, no. Is it anything with brainfreeze/icelance no. Is it the same way fire has been playing but with frost talents for winterchill. Yes.
Warcraft logs simple changed how they defined a frost mage to make people who want to go Winterschill and not be parsing as fire. Winterschill which is an overall buff if there is 1 other mage playing the opposite build.
Only thing I don’t know why, is why is WCL showing frost on top of fire because when you scroll down it shows Frost Max is way way lower then fire still.
The frost mage spams frostfire bolt on pull while the fire mage is spamming scorch, so the frost mage does slightly more max DPS.
I dont think its bad that arcane and frost are last… they should be. Arcane is a healer spec and frost is PvP…

There is no such thing as a PVP spec. There are just specs that do better in PVP. Do you think that the frost dps mages on those meters are specing deep frost for ice barrier, or do you think that it’s actually just hybrid spec frost/arcane using primarily frost spells and runes?
Not full IB no, IB is pretty worthless in raids.
They are definitely getting winters chill though.
