From 2500 to 1900 in Bgb in one weekend, this is my experience

I’m right there with you. I’m dying to play my favorite specs but I don’t want to stomach watching helplessly as I sink in to that pit and lose 600 cr like you did. So I’m playing alt specs and classes that I enjoy and let me actually play the game for the time being and hopefully later on from now the MMR situation will have improved and I’ll be able to hop back in on my main specs that I actually want to play. I do think if you keep at it you’ll eventually be able to get your rating back, just give it some time.

Yeah my Paladin alt dropped from 1920 something rated down to 1500 in a day or two of play. It’s really really annoying. Now i am stuck in that loop where if i lose i lose 20 rating but if i win I get nothing.

I stopped playing my warrior, last week, because of this. Lost 3 games in a row and started going 50/50 and could never get back to 2150. Feels like there needs to be a threshold like promotion/demotion or at least cap the mmr>CR delta.

I’ve been tanking my feral in blitz all weekend with a 30% win rate. First win in the last 5 games and it’s against a team with higher mmr than my CR and I get 0 points…

Say what you want about the MMR system (and plenty of people have) but getting 0 rating for a win is literally the definition of not respecting a player’s time. Feels just as bad when it happens in Solo Shuffle as well :slightly_frowning_face:

Then here is what you do if you truly love pvping. Roll an identical alt and always play the lower cr one. You will never “lose” cr again, and losses are far less frustrating.

Blizzard only solves non-issues for mentally ill customers we all should know that by now

He spoke the truth.

If they remove rating and team MMRs each game, even before Soloq blitz in normal RBG, there’d be many different outcomes

This is literally my exact experience as a healer right now. It’s demoralizing to the point where i just want to delete my character and move on from the game.

Yep happened to my priest from 1950 down playing now with 500CR rated players. This game mode needs an update

The idea that MMR should decide what CR a win is worth is flawed. The system was designed with good intentions I’m sure, but it is broken. I have not had your problem happen to me but you have my condolences.

I recommend what CR is earned and lost from wins and losses be static. Win = X Loss = some amount less than X, so anyone with a win/loss ratio above 50ŮŞ climbs naturally, without wining and geting 0 CR. If Blizzard wants to be generous a loss in a match VS a higher MMR average enemy team, points of CR could be 0. MMR can and should be used for matchmaking, thats about it.

Where is your main again?

This just means that better players are finally catching up, probably those that dont have all day to start really early and stomp undergeared players early. Thats all. You are beginning to face better players, and maybe, just maybe you are not as “good” as you thought you were. (no offense) For every person that goes down in rating, there is another going above them. This is not a “progression” system. Its a rating system.

Thank you. A lot of folks forget that.

Is there an example of a better system than MMR in other competitive games?

Seems like MMR is all that matters and feels odd to be put in games where you cannot win (or lose) points.

Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond etc leagues instead of #s

Those systems still use ratings, it’s just divided into bands.

I am not talking about what the difference bewteen duelist in WOW vs diamond in another game…those are just words for the rating you have.

I mean is there a system that awards rating points different than the MMR heavy system we have in WoW.

Right now MMR is everything. Your actual rating is just being coerced into your current MMR. Which is why some games you lose/win nothing.

Given this game mode is so randomized with teammates and comps, it seems like MMR is too heavy handed. When it comes to gaining or losing rating in any particular game, the outcome of your previous games are far more important that the game you are currently in. i.e. it is more about win streaks or losing streaks.

I think the MMR system should have a much lighter touch in blitz.
