Frog buff nonsense

Can we disable the BS frog cheat death that every horde player has in world pvp? It’d be pretty neat if we were actually on equal footing.

Rib-bit.

(does the Alliance not have something similar?)

Can you link the buff? I am not aware of it

When damaged below 25%, it grants an absorb shield and 10 second HoT. Has 3 min CD. On my shaman the shield is 38k, and the HoT is ~ 40k.

There are various LOA boons one can choose, assuming they have completed the various quest lines. Each one has a different effect usable only in Zandalar.

I think they’re fine. It adds some nice flavor to each faction. The LOA boons aren’t too dissimilar from some Alliance exclusive buffs on Kul Tiras. A few that come to mind are:

Swim speed and underwater breathing buff at Seeker’s Vista.

Inquistor’s Haste buff in Drustvar.

The run speed buff from Arom’s stand.

I think these various world buffs are fun, and fine for the game.

If you didn’t realize it by now, that shrine buff can actually be dispelled. In order to get the buff back, they need to go back to a shrine to obtain it.

There’s two versions of this. Shrine buffs normally last for around 30 minutes, but there is a mission on the mission table that allows you to keep it on permanently without having to refresh it, but only works on Zandalar of course.

As I said though, it can be dispelled. You’re a hunter, you can use a pet to dispel it. I use the Bat pet on my hunter for dispels, and it works fine. You should do the same.

I’m actually a prot warrior. Not sure why it defaulted back to this character I haven’t played in a few weeks. Regardless, are you saying that you can preemptively dispel the frog before it saves a person, or you can dispel the cheat death effect itself?

The boon is a magic buff. It can be dispelled before it activates.

Yep. You can dispel the frog buff before it saves someone. Weirdly enough, the permanent version isn’t considered magic but can still be dispelled, don’t let it fool you. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s good information if I start playing my hunter again or level a DH, shaman, or priest. For the other classes though, I assume the advice is simply outplay every single person to the point where if you can beat them despite the frog buff, it didn’t matter anyway?

Not every person has it. They may not have completed the quests (my DK for example), or may prefer one of the other boons. I don’t consider them game breaking by any means. The legion Vindicar cheat death buff was way more powerful (AOE stun and full heal).

The boons give horde an advantage on their island, absolutely. Just like our buffs give us an advantage on Kul Tiras.

Where do you go to get this boon… I know only of the shrine in the pyramid which gives another boon.

And will this stack with my Sinister Trinket ??

Yes, I believe they stack.

Nice, should give a good advantage ..

Because being able to jump in a cannon and be shot into the middle of Tiragarde Sound is such an advantage, eh?

I didn’t mention that one, did I? Feel free to comment on the buffs I did mention though.

Problem is, you didn’t mention any Kul Tiras buffs, just some outdated stuff from Legion.

Quoting myself for your benefit, Irisse.

Those count as buffs? They’re basically useless in PVP - about as useful as the cannon.

If you need me to explain how all 3 of those are NOT useless in PVP, then maybe WPVP isn’t your thing after all? I think you know their value quite well. Instead you’re just looking to RP this as another “horde favoritism” nonsense.
