Hello, and thanks for reading. If a player started to get into Wrath of the Lich King Classic today is there catchup gear that came out with TOC or would I need to find groups doing the old raids still and make my way through the old dungeons etc
I read all this stuff about GS and GDKP that I know about a little bit but not much. No friends etc so just planning to make a toon on the busiest server.

Cheap boe’s on AH, 213 set / 232/245 pvp off pieces with honor then H++ (beta) dungeons for 225 ulduar gear when you have 4k+ GS.
Seems to be the easiest way to me. You can do old naxx / ulduar too I’m just too lazy to find groups for them.
I got a toon from like 3500>4700 GS in a week from mostly honor gear, 400g worth of BoE’s and 1 H++ dungeon.
Its still a pain. Through and through, and dont listen to the people saying cheap BoE’s. If I were to listen to them I would end up spending close to 30k “catching up” from these BoE’s no matter the server. Thats for a tank. But if you are looking to holy pally things are relatively cheap.
A lot of people arent taking PvP geared people either. 3500 GS is also around 190ilvl, something you arent going to get from leveling.

I think you can pretty much just jump right into Ony 10/25, and if you want to probably normal ToGC Normal 10/25 though.
Don’t do it TBH. Unless you have stupid amounts of gold.
There are a bunch of neckbeards that scream at you if you mention the RFD because it’ll cut into their gold selling/run selling market.
Wrath Classic isn’t Wrath anymore. If you want a fun challenge, try the Classic Hardcore Challenge. I’ve been doing it for about a week and it’s really refreshing!

Go into BGs/WGs and buy their welfare gear for honor/marks. This will fast track you to around 4.5k, enough to go straight into beta dungeons and newer raids. There’s no reason to farm old deserted dungeons for old obsolete gear when there’s a faster way to skip them.

You do understand that people want to do heroic dungeons for the emblems to get gear and not the gear that comes from the actual dungeons… right?
For instance, a prot pally wouldnt be doing heroics to get Bolstered Legplates, but they would be doing heroics to get Wyrmguard Legplates for example.

PVP now gives deadly weapons for honor. and deadly armour. with some fierce from the faction capital vendor.
So if not averse to pvp you can at least get 213 minimal from that. Not super great stuff…but should open doors maybe to get the pve gear you seek. Better than fresh 80 with crap quest greens anyway.
If pvp mixed in during the 60 to 80 run…having the 75K honor is taken care of for a nice 80 ding shopping spree.
You will hit a wall at around 4900gs and nobody will invite you to content that would increase your gs further because there are too many people at 5200+gs to choose over you. Your only chance is to find a guild that will carry you i’m afraid. That or swipe and GDKP i suppose.
IMO - Get to 80 and jump into Naxx10/25 pugs to get some baseline gear.
Then, you should probably be able to into “full normal” ulduar pugs with the shards reserved - they still happen on Mankrik.

Everything still happens on this server, everything from molten core to current raids.
In two weeks my rogue went from fresh 80 to 5kGS, its easy people just like to whine on the forums.
