French Interview with Ion

I’ve tried using Google Translate. Doesn’t seem to be anything particularly new or that we couldn’t guess from the 9.2 preview.

The only thing really lore relevant I noticed was that they don’t like the idea of a firm, “this race can never be this class,” mentality. Like, he specifically says Void Elf Paladins wouldn’t be well liked by other Void Elves, but he doesn’t say they can’t be a thing or won’t happen either.

Well no new renown levels has me surprised… For a good reason.

There go all the “But they would explode!” arguments.

Inb4 Lightforged draenei warlocks.

To be fair, this is Ion. I take anything he says that might have lore relevance WELL salted. By which I don’t mean I get salty, I mean, Lore isn’t his thing.

Post this on General Discussion, please.

I updated a thread asking for Void Elf Paladins, and it’s being discussed in the Void Elf customization thread, so the interview is being discussed over there already. Another thread would probably just be spam. If you disagree you’re more than welcome to share the link over there.

TBH lore isnt blizzards thing AT ALL.

He probably learned his lesson after being so smug and definite about rolling Horde if you want Blonde High Elves - and summarily going back on that.

I am glad they did it. But it did make him look a bit silly.

I read it(yes I know french) and there are some interesting point mentioned. Specifically about how this may change our view on azeroth and how the elements(that make it)fit together.

I don’t think he’s saying Elements as in Elemental Magic but rather Elements as in Elements of the World Building we are familiar with

A Void Elf Warlock should explode but it doesn’t! Same goes for a Lightforged Death Knight.

A Void Elf Paladin would be the most masochistic of Paladins! More so than a Forsaken Paladin!

if a lightforged shadow priest surrounding themselves to void lords can exist then a void elf paladin can exist.

Yup, busy so not enough time to make a proper explantion. Also they seem keen on “sacred geometry” that is suppose to be building blocs of the universe.

This reads like a Wiccan read the Zohar and misunderstood everything

Feel more like they are making Titans 2.0. The First Ones seem to be quite focused on order(geometry being a symbol of order)

It’s just marvel celestials

Kills the argument against undead paladins too.

I mean, that argument has been getting weaker and weaker for ages now. First we had Zeliek. Then we had the undead Scarlets in Cataclysm. Then we had Calia Menethil, and shortly after her, we have literal Lightforged Draenei Death Knights.
