I think you need to routinely and consistently say horrible things to get a full-on lockdown and even then it would have come with a series of escalations before it.
I can imagine most of KI sitting back right now going “… are we the baddies???”

Clearly a perma ban for basic PvP banter is unwarranted. Franq is a valued and respected member of the random bg community and his influence is much more positive than negative. Blizzard is out of touch with our bg community here and appeals to the casual player base that is baby lotion soft apparently. Blizzard over policing and giving out harsh bans is overcompensating for their own mistakes clearly. They have never been this harsh with bans ever.
You can still be extremely abusive, just avoid specific “bad think” keywords. Try to insult with eloquence.
(or just… don’t be a terrible person?)
Franq is one of the sweetest people who plays this game. He likes to “trash talk” in bgs, but it’s not mean-spirited. He’s funny. I’m not mad when we lose. He’s definitely not mad when he loses a match.
I think Blizzard needs to adjust their ban policy though. The auto-report or mass report is flawed. Also, banning people from chat seems better than banning them from the actual game. If they really want to change the behavior of their player base, they’ll bring back GMs who monitor zone chat. That was always a riot to see one start typing and players apologizing and begging not to get banned. Manners were important and the game was great leverage to that player-base. Now, the players just plug in their xbox or ps5.
I will miss Franq and I hope wherever he is, he knows he made the game better for more people than not. Viva la Franq! <3
You must have not been aware of this new ban system. You can be reported and banned for doing or saying anything as long as people report you. which includes emoting. i know someone who was reported for having a macro for kidney shot that says it in chat anytime he presses the button, which is once every 30s. banned. its an automated ban system with no appeal process.
No sympathy from me. Ive never gotten a suspension in my 17 years of playing on this account. Learn to be sarcastic, not abusive.p
a year ago i called someone a potato and was immediately silenced for a week. hows that for a bad think word. like i said be4, its a numbers game when it comes to bans. theres a streamer who asked his viewers to report him after saying someting in chat and they did that, he was kicked off and banned within a minute. ----couldnt appeal.
dope, ill make sure i report you in game next time i see you. its ok if you dont say anything because they dont care.
Have at it
That seems like it’d potentially fall under spamming.
Well, yeah, that’s somebody asking 50 people to report them for nothing within the span of a few seconds.
i agree. i can officially say I have earned the right to judge Franq.
I dont know him, but it seems like I do.
if he was banned… he OBVIOUSLY did some seriously messed up stuff yo.
i mean… people arent just locked up in jail for no reason… only guilty people are locked up, and thats just the way it is because im johnny big brainz
franq is a terrible person indeed.
all those free torghast runs he offer to me.
all them times he help me farm honor and conq on a new alt.
all the gold he give me, gliders, potions etc
very yerrible and especiable human.
i cant believe he called an AFK player trash in a BG. he should get more than a ban, he should get capital pounishment
I…was replying to the guy who said “oh you can still be extremely abusive, just don’t use certain words”
Sry bro
We’ve given Franq a list of Shakespeare-ish words to use. He prefers “potato.” We’ve given him a list of Victorian insults and Monty Pythonesque phrases. We’ve told him to play while wearing mittens. We’ve asked him to not call out afk players to the point where the rest of the team reports him. We’ve sent him the Good Book and a bottle of Holy Water. We’ve coached him using the latest didactic workbooks and nutritional cookbooks in hopes of changing his attitude and his gut bacteria. The man is just full of vim and vigor. I tell him to kiss my grits at least once a week, if not twice. So much is lost in translation in words. Discord and hearing intentions and the word potato …. It’s just gentler and more like fatherly advice and critique. Things I tell myself when I get a DM or I’m told to uninstall the game: Use the “salt” Channel in discord. Don’t take things personal. Turn off chat for a hot minute. I personally love getting the “You’re bad” whispers. Cracks me up every time. I get more good ones than bad. Franq never whispers anyone unless it’s to see if they’re a bot or close enough to deliver food to him.
#freefranq
Well at least he made a new monk, Horde bg’s are saved
Yall really gotta get him a shock collar or something for when he starts popping off lmao
How bad does it get?
He’s just passionate about the game. Takes it seriously when people insult him, and doesn’t know when to stop. Franq is a very nice person, I’ve never seen him do personal digs on anyone. It’s just pvp banter that goes to far
i would have preferred an in game permachat ban instead of my OG account being shut down for the same reasons.
