Disable world bosses, turn on layering on those servers, problem solved!
Lulz, player created problem and they are giving the free ability for a player driven solution
See this is nonsense. If a realm is full, IT’S FULL. ENFORCE THE FULL. No more transfers to it. Very simple concept. You very much so CAN and SHOULD enforce these things when there are limits and constraints on how many people can play at the same time. Otherwise, with your logic, why not just have one server?
Yea, we can’t move as a guild even if we wanted to because a number of our raiders would be stranded thanks to the xfer cool down. Blizzard, you’re a joke.
did you guys tried to open a ticket?
It sure will. Blizzard as usual can’t be bothered to think these things through.
The tickets that take over 5 days to get a reply?
I’m reserving my judgement to see how they handle the rest of this change (allowing free transfers to certain realms).
If your on one of these super-overpopulated servers, this is your opportunity to transfer to a less populated realm and avoid painful queues.
In terms of whether they should have closed transferred to high population realms like Incindius earlier on…the short answer is almost assuredly yes. They should have protected the existing stable communities on those servers, and not taken the money of people who were looking to transfer to an already High Pop server.
They also should have considered creating faction transfer queues (really early on) that limit the number of Alliance or Horde transfers to a realm based on the existing faction ration on that server. The ratio didn’t need to be a straight 50/50, (and that would have been high unrealistic) but common sense would have suggested that if you have a 70/30 faction split…or 80/20 faction split…maybe you shouldn’t be able to transfer to that server if your playing a character that happens to be a member of whichever faction is dominant on that server.
I know that would have restricted player choice. It comes down to what you value more… having total individual freedom, or whether your willing to trade some personal freedom/power in exchange for having a more balanced/healthy realm community.
My assessment is Blizzard Entertainment screwed up here already…and they have an opportunity to potentially provide some relief by doing now what they should have done months ago. It’s not going to be entirely fair, and there will be people who are unhappy.
The real question in my mind is ‘How is Blizzard going to handle these proposed free transfers specifically?’ Meaning: Which realms will selected as potential transfer realms? Will transfers be controlled/throttled in an effort to preserve existing faction balance’s on other servers? Ie. Will you not be able to transfer to a specific realm if your an Alliance player and the server you want to transfer to already has an overly high percentage of Alliance to Horde players? Same applies to Horde…
In trying to help these (3) mega server communities, how responsible is Blizzard going to be when dealing with the other severs?
Will the free transfers be available to people who are on CD for 90 days? this is a great thing for many servers. But if there is still a CD on transfers from before it basically just forces the people who picked incendius from the start to xfer off. Or any of the other servers for that matter.
Excellent question; would be nice to get a quick answer to this.
They have never in the past been willing to reset the xfer cool down for any reason, I doubt they’ll start now. It would require manual intervention from support specialists for every character affected and you know they’re allergic to actually giving customer support.
I’d be astounded by the levels of brain damage that would be required to roll out a change like this (after having announced your reviewing potential solutions and testing them internally) only to neglect the server transfer cool-down for those (3) specific realms which are in obvious meltdown.
This isn’t all of the “some relief from the queues” referred to by @WarcraftDevs is it?
Please tell me there’s more.
No temporary layering? No temporary lockdown on transferring to the server?
but they’ll happily close free xfers if the realm becomes full! The greed and incompetence of blizzard knows no bounds.
Yea it’s actually pathetic.
I’d expect nothing less from blizzard at this point.
Paid transfers are still available.
Are you allowing people who just transferred to these servers the option to transfer off, or do they still have to wait 3 months.
this is literally the worst thing they could do. so ofc that’s what they chose to do.
