If you don’t use the TV that much, go for the free model. It’ll be less of a hassle probably.
If you use your TV a lot and/or you have the free change to pay the $450 difference for the higher model, then sure I guess. But it’s not really worth $450 over the free model, as it doesn’t offer that much of an improvement(apart from things like freesync and such). Apart from freesync, the RU8000 series doesn’t really seem that great of a value. That series is sort of in the awkward area, where some other brands offer better overall value, and where there are better TVs for a bit more.
You have to decide whether the extra $450 you’d spend on the slightly better TV is worth it, and whether you’d get more enjoyment out of other things you could’ve purchased instead for that price.
If you need the extra features, the size(I’d suggest measuring out the listed dimensions to see what you’d rather prefer), and you just have the extra money layering around, then go ahead. But, if those things listed above don’t really change much for you, or you’d be using money that you’d use for other things that would make a bigger difference, then you should just keep the free one.
It’s easy to get caught up in the whole ‘buy the biggest baddest thing I can’, but then you get it and barely use it lol. So use your judgement based on your situation. It also kind of depends on what you’re using now, because if you’re using some kind of 70 inch older TV right now, and downgrade to the 43, then it’s surely going to be weird, but if you’re going up in size, then whatever.
You’re basically just choosing between size and freesync/120 Hz for $450. Whether it’s worth it, is up to you and your situation. If it were me personally, I wouldn’t upgrade, but I don’t game on a TV, nor do I really use my TV much, just a few hours a week. I also don’t sit very far from it either, so I wouldn’t need a giant 55 inch in my face :).
Also, you have to consider if you’d see yourself upgrading the TV(RU7100) in the future for 120 Hz/freesync and/or size, if so, then sure.
