Thought of sharing this, finally got around to it

Back on the old forums I mentioned about sharing my desktop setup and now I’m finally doing it. Apologize for any bad camera shots but yea, also desk is in a weird spot for now till I move some old furniture out

So… my desk setup!

What it looks like from standing view

I’ll go detail by detail

The main screen is a TV actually (Will show why a TV down below), a 4k 43 inch screen, on top of my subwoofer is a Coca Cola Bottle says “Share a coke with Vega”, a little drone, Battle for Azeroth collectors edition 2 sided coin, with the Alliance symbol facing front and the Horde symbol facing back.

The bottom, a Limited Edition Super Smash Bros 3DS console connected to a little speaker you see on the subwoofer, next to it a FX 8350 that I no longer use, some badge stickers, RAM, underneath the TV is A wireless Wii sensor bar for the Wii U, one of the first Blizzard keychain authenticators that came out 10 years ago(they had a promotion where if you buy it you get the corehound pet), still works after 10 years, Steelseries Cherry MX Black 6Gv2 keyvoard, Red Dragon M990 Legend MMO mouse (mentioned it earlier today on another thread) and a mouse pad from the limited edition Diablo III Reaper of Souls

Up close

On the left

Limited Edition Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Wii remote with a nunchuk, Limited Edition Legend of Zelda Wind Waker Wii U Console, Limited Edition Pokemon Gale of Darkness Nintendo Gamecube (My first console, mind the memory cards) , Limited Edition Super Smash Bros Ultimate Switch Console.

Monitor is a HP Omen 32 inch 75 HZ freesync monitor that I once played mainly, now serves for just web browsing or when I need to look up something without alt tabbing.

PC is a Ryzen 2700x with a Vega Frontier, 32 GB of RAM, with Windows 10, Windows 7 and Reborn OS (Arch Linux distro)

on top of the PC are boxes of a 2700x, 1800x and a 2200G

Another PC is underneath this desk but I can show that another day, need to redo wiring (thats my 2nd PC for a Linux server, that also connects to the 1440p monitor)

upclose

Now as you already suspect, all these consoles connected to the 4k TV!

Play in glorious 480p on the gamecube! (Super Mario Sunshine)

or Play 1080p on the Wii U or Switch

but yes this is what my setup is like, hopefully you liked the pictures (or not)

Edit: the desk

Impressive.

I remember when I could see my desk top. Maybe this weekend I will again. :exploding_head:

I bought this desk for this reason

I still have lots of space, before all those consoles were there it was just so much space and then one day I thought," why not I just hook up my consoles on the TV here"

So I did and made it so convenient

Whenever my nieces and nephews want to play super smash bros ultimate, I just move my keyboard and mouse towards the 1440p screen and continue playing WoW or something

The desk is bigger than what you see tbh

Btw for anyone wanting to see the coin in more detail

You should move the left pair of that Logitech Z313 over to where the Z313 sub is, and have the sub where that is, or on the floor. It kind of messes up the audio imaging the way you have it now. Those 2 depend more on location than the subwoofer does.

If you use them often, the side of me that’s into audio wants to tell you that you may want to look into upgrading them, since they’re not really that good. If you have enough space, you could probably even get fancy monitor speakers, unless you mostly use headphones :).

I actually plan on getting rid of it entirely one day

I want this

Don’t use headphones that often, if I do I just grab my bluetooth earbuds and use it, my x470 taichi motherboard has bluetooth

You’d probably fair a bit better if you get this x2 -

or these -

They both seem to sound really great for their price(and the Ilouds for their size). The 2nd ones are way smaller, but don’t let the size fool you :). The 1st ones would have to be placed a little farther away/take up more space.

No RBG though ;). They both probably have deeper bass than that one you linked despite no subwoofer.

interesting, if I do get the first one linked I might have to redo my whole desk…

is it just 1 speaker or is this a pair?? im assuming 1 speaker

but the reason I thought of the sound bar because i can put it underneath the TV

and probably figure out another way to put the wii sensor bar at

The first one is just 1 speaker, you have to buy 2 for a pair.

The 2nd ones are really small by comparison and can fit with little space. A little more expensive than the Creative setup you linked though.

If you like overpowering upper bass, they’re probably not for you though :P. They’re more about accuracy, with extension.

If you’re looking for heavily boosted upper bass, you’d probably want a sub(since most are tuned to the wall to be super boomy), but you could probably do better than that Creative one.

I’ll think about those tbh

Also, I also decided to buy another 2 side coin on eBay

Now I’ll have the alliance side next to the 4k monitor and the Horde side next to the 1440p monitor

Just actually discovered this by accident lol

I don’t watch tv in the house hold but I do pay for the service, Xfinity

If I ever decide to want to watch TV, I can launch the xfinity app on the TV, and stream live TV, but the box would be better honestly

Which means I would swap to the 1440p monitor and play WoW or something while watching TV at the same time

Like this for example, updating Windows 10

Or even watch a movie on demand (Spiderman Homecoming)

I rarely watch TV but this was nice to discover

Couldn’t use the box anyways due to not having any more HDMI slots

A little update and probably last

I decided to get a new keyboard and mouse set for the 2nd monitor

Need to adjust things again

So now therea a pair for each monitor

If I wanted to play 1440p resolution I just turn left and go at it

Or use it for web browsing when I’m playing on console

And theres another coin for the Horde monitor

So now I have 2

It’s a nice setup You, lol we just have… 5 monitors, 4 computers, and a partridge in a pear tree. but it’s all quite a mess.

Actually fixing to get rid of one computer though, it was a work server that we replaced.

I just tried WoW on m y 1440p monitor again, was testing the settings to swap monitors for what WoW would be on

I can’t go back to 1440p, it looks terrible compared to 4k, absolute terrible
